This lesson has an ESSAY QUESTION assignment.

Rounding the last corner to your Arithmancy lesson, you are surprised to find a few of your classmates in the hallway outside the classroom. You approach them with a questioning glance and one of them invites you to take a spot next to them. As you peer through the open doorway together, you find Professor Kay JΓ€ger deep in conversation with the new Transfiguration professor, Professor Isaac Howard. It is hard to hear what they are saying from out in the hallway, the hustle and bustle of students making their ways to their own respective lessons sounding much louder in your ear. Since when have they been good friends?

Your lesson should be starting soon, but it seems the two young professors have yet to notice the time. More and more students gather by the doorway, afraid to walk in and disturb the two. You know, however, remaining out in the hallway will eventually attract a staff member’s attention. A chill runs down your spine as you hope it’s not Professor Mathers. It is then that Professor Howard notices the commotion by the door, his eyes wide (or at least you think, it’s hard to see his left eye behind its monocle). Quickly tapping his wrist and gesturing towards the door, the two turn their attention to their audience by the doorway. Professor Howard let out a hearty laugh as Professor JΓ€ger let out a surprised β€œOh!” and scrambled to his feet to go welcome his students inside.

β€œMy students, I’m so sorry! Have you been waiting long? Come in, Come in!” Students began pouring into the classroom, relieved to finally be settling down into their seats. As the last of the students passed the two professors now standing by the doorway, the two seemed to exchange a few more words before Professor Howard bellowed out β€œDon’t fall asleep!” to the students and left with a departing slap on the back from Professor JΓ€ger.

Closing the door, the Arithmancy professor quickly made his way back to the front of the room.

β€œGood afternoon, students! Welcome back to another year of your favorite subject- Arithmancy! And of course, another year with your favorite professor!”

He smiled as the room erupted with laughter.

β€œI am certain everyone spent the summer practicing-”

A few groans could be heard across the room.

β€œ-so let’s get started, shall we?”

Picking up his open copy of Numerology and Grammatica from his desk, Professor JΓ€ger turned to the blackboard.

β€œIn Numerology there are five numbers that define who we are. During our last lesson, we learned about our Destiny number, Soul Urge number, and Personality number. For today’s lesson, we’ll be going over our Life Path number and Birth Day number. The Life Path number is the most important of the core numbers as it not only reveals your purpose in life but your innate abilities and weaknesses. It serves as a blueprint to your life and influences the opportunities and challenges you face. Your Life Path number helps you better understand yourself. Your Life Path number is derived from your date of birth.

β€œWe’ll be using the 3 Cycle method to calculate our Life Path numbers. In the 3 Cycle method, you reduce your birth month, birth day, and birth year to a single digit number unless it results in a Master number (11, 22, or 33). There are some examples on how to use the 3 Cycle method on page 20 of your textbook.

β€œIt’s pretty easy to calculate your Life Path number. Together let’s calculate my Life Path number.” Kay wrote his birthday on the blackboard and chuckled. β€œI was born many moons ago compared to you, kiddos."

β€œJuly is the seventh month of the year. There is no more reduction. However, if you were born in the tenth or twelfth month, then you will need to further reduce the number. Next, we’ll reduce the day. Fortunately, there is no more reduction needed. To reduce the year, we must first add the four numbers composing the year." β€œIn my case, as you can clearly see, there is no further reduction after adding up the four numbers composing the year. Master numbers intensify certain traits of the reduced single digit number it relates to (The traits of 2 are intensified by the Master number 11, the traits of 4 by Master number 22 and the traits of 6 by Master number 33).”

β€œYour Birth Day number is the easiest core number to calculate and is often considered to be the least important of the core numbers. Your Birth Day is number is derived from the day you were born and defines your traits, values, and goals. By understanding your Birth Day number, you can better understand how certain traits impact your life. Hence, my Birth Day number is the number 4. If your birth day has double digits, then I would also check out the meaning of the reduced digit. People born on a double-digit day possess additional characteristics not defined by the single digit. "

β€œIf you have any questions, feel free to refer to your book. If you are still having trouble, give a loud β€œKay!” and I will come help you.”

According to my calculations, my life path number is 7. Sevens are described as having a loner quality. They usually lack faith and without it they are cynical and escape through various, and usually unhealthy, outlets. Sevens have a love of natural beauty. I favor bodies of water, I find them beautiful and serene. They are also known to have high awareness, wide points of view and an air of mystery about them. Additional qualities include being a thinker, being wise and studious, but aloof and insecure. Perfection is a key tendency.

I can see a lot of myself in this life path number. I am usually reserved and insecure. Everyone has secrets that they don’t want to share, and I am not exempt from them. However, there are somethings about this predestined number that I don’t agree with. I don’t always want to see truth and wisdom. Sometimes it’s best not to know the answers and in those cases I don’t feel the need to look for them. If it truly were such a high priority I would be in Ravenclaw.

Overall, I think that I have learned things about myself, but I also believe that things can be changed through hard work – which is one of my house’s characteristics.

Lesson Nicola Stromwing Hufflepuff Birthday: January 12, 2004

1st Month =1 12th Day 1+2 =3 2004 2+4 =6 1+3+6=10/1 Life Path Number is 1 Birth Day Number is 12 or 3

People with a life path number of one tend to be born leaders with strong determination. They, or should I say we, have a drive that can make it so we can overcome obstacles and a fierce independence of mind. This drive and independence can also have the negative effect of being critical of self and others and an irritation when things don't go their way. Arrogance, boastfulness, inability to follow or seek help, and finding detailed tasks tiresome are some of the drawbacks. On the good side, ones are good at multitasking, innovation, and problem-solving.

People with a birth day number of twelves have a high degree of artistic ability and are imaginative and creative. Twelves are enthusiastic, sociable, emotional, good at writing, and have lots of vitality. Negatives are self-indulgences in depression, moodiness, and a tendency to scatter creative energy instead of focusing it.

I am a bit skeptical about numerology, to be honest. Numbers do define the universe in the form of physics, but I am not sure numbers can define something as qualitative as a personality or changeable as life. People are quite different even when born on the same day.

The numbers show some of my strengths and weaknesses, but some of the stuff is scary or way off. It says I should be a salesperson, in the performing arts or politics and I find those ideas terrifying, but I like the idea of being talented in writing. I can be quite self-indulgent in the pity party throwing, but I am not sociable. Overall it is a bit of a mix.

I never thought of my being critical of myself flowing over into being critical of others, but I can see that now. It makes sense that I would try to hold others to the same standards I hold myself. I am uncomfortable as a leader so try to follow, but end up leading from behind when I see things could wrong. Maybe I do have a problem following and am a good leader? I might have to try to lead from the start more often.

I calculated my Life Path number like this. October 27, 2001 - 10/27/2001 = 1 + 9 + 3= 13 = 4 My life Path Number is 4. My birth day number is 27 if reduced is 9. To me the numbers don't mean anything, they are just dates to detail events and in this case they give detail of the day I was born to this world.

Now according to numerology people with a life path number of four are individuals very organized and grounded. They clearly understand that hard work and determination can bring to the desiring point of your goals. It also says people with these number don't like playing in teams and only in close family circles. Number four are a nice lovers, as they care for the comfort of people loved. Deep inside is emotional, and any stressful situation is a great damage for your peace of mind.

According to my day of birth 27, we have an analytic mind. The circle of their interests is very wide and they can succeed in any field. They are always thinking-out and planning all their actions very well, which gives them the ability to work for a long time, and provides them with a successful advancement in life. People of Number 27 strive to obtain as much knowledge as possible and they keep learning all their lifetime. Most of them have a great strength of will and can focus their energy on achieving a certain goals. They are quite ambitious and lucky, but may miss opportunities because of too much speculations and a lack of confidence.

It is interesting how the day of birth describes me a lot better than the Life path number since I consider myself very much as described above. It was also suggested to look at the description of the minimized number, in my case it would be 2+7=9. The number nine have a very well developed intuition and broad thinking, they are usually well educated and they read a lot. These people are perceptive and sensitive to every single event in their life, and from their experiences they usually make the appropriate conclusions.

I can say it does have a good guide on how I feel my personality is and it did helped me understand myself a bit more. The information revealed several traits I didn't understand about myself, like my need to learn and be successful in all I try. For this I can also learn to try not to become obsessive and balance things more.

It wasn’t that weird, seeing two professors having a conversation before class. But there was something about their expressions, Fade’s curiosity was practically killing him by the time the lesson began. He couldn’t help but groan when Professor JΓ€ger declared Arithmancy a favorite subject, of course it wasn’t, at least not for Fade. Although he did appreciate their professors style, the numbers thing just reminded him of his early education and his hatred of all things mathematical. Unenthusiastically Fade lifted his quill and began his calculations:

Fade, Ravenclaw (year 3) Life Path # Aug 21st 2004 Month: 8 Day: 2+1 = 3 Year: 2+4 = 6

8 + (2+1) 3 + (2+4) 6 = 17 (1+7=8) My β€œLife Path” number is 8

Birthday # 21

-- The life path number eight represents β€œAuthority, material wealth, ambition, and caution.” I’m not so sure I’m really a good authority figure, people make me nervous. But maybe that is where the caution comes into play. Eights are also supposed to be good judges of character. I think that is pretty reasonable, all my friends are cool. Eights also have a strong need for success and that is true, at least in my case. I don’t know anyone else who studies more…

My Birthday number is twenty one, and it represents transformation. Funny because I’m a metamorph, it sort of fits a little too well. Like maybe this Arithmancy stuff really works. Twenty one represents creativity and dedication. Both things I see in myself. Dedication relating back to my Life Path number as well. Twenty one can be impulsive and I would be a liar if I disagreed with that. Apparently I’m intelligent and I try to not offend people. Gotta agree with that.

Not really sure I understand myself any better now, than before. But this does give me something to think about, and maybe gives me some perspective on parts of my personality that have yet to really develop.

Setting down his quill, Fade glanced around the room wondering if anyone else was drawing similar conclusions… Was it lunchtime yet?

Eurus Burke (Slytherin) Eurus Burke. Slytherin. Sixth Year.

My Birthday is June 7th, 2001. So my life path number is 7. I think this suits me. According to our textbook, people with seven as life path number prefer Independence, and to distance themselves from the distractions of other people's thoughts. They also tend to isolate themselves, and to be jealous of others who form close friendships easily. I won't deny that these statements describe me perfectly. I do not make friends easily, and I very rarely trust others to truly know me. Apparently, I need to be less withdrawn and more willing to open up to others. I am not sure if I am willing to do that. Once bitten, twice shy – or so they say. How accurate this is makes me somewhat uncomfortable. On the plus side, I am good at analytical thought, and research – as long as I am allowed to work alone. Hopefully that will help me with the NEWTS next year.

My Birthday number is also 7. This contradicts my life path number, suggesting that my introversion is a defense mechanism. That's true - so is the fact that I am stubborn and opinionated. ...As well as cynical and do think highly of particularly emotional people. Again, the book warns against being too withdrawn. How does one avoid being withdrawn when everyone else is put off by them? I didn't choose to be a legilimens.

Life Path 3 This life path focuses on talent, creativity, and expression. Those who tread along this life path are known to be witty and love being the focus of attention. If they feel as though they do not have such creative abilities, it seems that is simply because they have not dedicated enough time into developing such skills.

To bring forth said talent, commitment, concentration, and hard work is necessary. Setbacks will happen, but their optimistic resilience shall always prevail and support them through hard times. They can, occasionally, be generous to a fault; they think more often of others than of themselves.

People of this life path are emotional and vulnerable; the kind who draw into themselves when hurt and avoid showing their true feelings. The lows of this life path are very low, making those who wander it susceptible to depression, but the highs are equally as high and provide them with a chance at an extraordinarily bright life.

Birth Day 24 Those born under on the 24th day of the month are very much family-oriented. Their strengths lie in maintaining and even restoring harmonious relationships.Overly emotional, to the point of melodramatic is the description of this day bearer, particularly when given criticism.

It is this person who is always ready to sacrifice much for the sake of an important relationship. However, that same empathetic nature leads those to get involved in other people’s relationships and may lead to them being taken advantage of. A good and faithful companion, they can be impractical, but are still careful and patient.

In Relation to Myself… I do not know about the whole creative and talented aspect in relation to myself. I have never felt particularly talented, but the books also state that if that is the case, then it is only due to my own neglect in chasing after and participating in such things. I do great take care in the relationships I form and would agree that it is those relationships that are most important to me in life. I cannot say what I would do unless put in the situation, but the idea of sacrifice in order to keep a relationship does not seem absurd to me. I am not sure I agree with the word "vulnerable” and I think one could argue that everyone is β€œemotional” - we are all humans after all; however, I do have a habit of looking internally when conflicted rather than facing and talking about problems. That said, I do not think this reading was any more accurate describing myself than it would have been describing any other person in this class.

Lysandra remembered her last numerology lesson fondly. She found some interesting facts during her occupation with her Destiny, Soul Urge and Personality numbers. As a matter of fact, math and logic werenΒ΄t her strong points, yet numerology and its vibes were quite different even when starting with figures.

So now the matter was to discover the Life Path number and the Birth Day number. Lysandra was eager to find out more about these ideas.

Outfit Not Found

Essay by Lysandra, Ravenclaw Lysandra LinrΓ«thil Ravenclaw Birthday: October 24th, 2001

Calculating with the 3 Cycle method, my Life Path number is reckoned like shown in this summary: I am born in October so this is the 10th month of the year = 10 on the 24th day of the month = 24 in the year of 2001 ( 2 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 3) = 3 total = 37 reduced to 3 + 7 = 10 further reduced to 1 + 0 = 1 So my Life Path number is 1.

Life Path number 1 sounds a little bit intimidating. Like I have always to be number 1. My suspicions are confirmed when reading the various interpretations in the book. People with this Life Path number want to control something, either others or themselves. They are stubborn, value their freedom and are emotional and determined and full of ideas and energy. Concerning others, this could easily lead into tyranny.

Like last term, thatΒ΄s very interesting conclusions. Concerning myself, this is very true. Since years, I am trying to control myself concerning my elven energy, and I tried so hard that this very energy was blocked for years. Only by taking a step back and letting my inner tension flow more easily, I was able to achieve success in this direction. My stubborness and determination helped me to score in the end yet I was very emotional about it and needed a break from my family to find my freedom and the distance to develop new qualities of myself.

On the contrary, the idea of wishing to control others is non-existent in my personality. For a start, I am much too shy to bully other people. In addition to this, my emotional attachment to all living beings bestows me compassion and empathy and there would be no basis for despotism.

The books say further that beings with Life Path number 1 tend to be vain. I have to confess, I am. I am pretty sure this trait is associated with my elven ancestry. Even a half-elf like me likes to look beautiful. I am very obsessed with colors. My hair color always have to match my clothes and my clothes have to be tone-in-tone or dual colored at most. However, I donΒ΄t think thatΒ΄s a very bad characteristic all in all. I donΒ΄t abridge others with doing so and isnΒ΄t a beautiful girl nice to look at? So I see only positve marks here.

Calculating my Birth number is a little bit more easy. It derives from the day I am born which is the 24th. I have to look up24 and also 2 and 4 then and additionaly the combined number 6 by reduction of 24.

Different books tell me that number 24 shows up in family-oriented persons who strive for harmony, are sensitive and emotional up to melodrama and have a gift for healing and arts. In my case, this underlines the facts I found out for my Life Path number and which proved true.

A gift for healing and arts is quite true, too. My life goal is to become a healer for the creatures in the Elven Forest. I am already well-founded in the Care for Magical Creatures object and herbalism and hope to improve during my terms here in Hogwards.

The arts performed by number 24 people is described as acting or drama. ThatΒ΄s not my way of expression. I donΒ΄t like to occupy center stage, sometimes I am even anxious to deliver a lecture, blushing all the time. My muse is drawing, especially silk painting. Seeing the colors flow helps me to relax and working with colors is very much to my liking when I am in control of the assortment.

The reduced numer 6 emphasizes all these facts, too. It also mentions vanity and flattery and links to my Life Path number doing so. Number 2 underlines the sensibility and intuition and number 4 the discipline and responsibility found before so all numbers go hand in hand which is simply astonishing

Arithmancy becomes more and more a factful and also accurate academic discipline for me!

Aisling always found Arithmancy to be interesting since it felt like a type of divination. She started to jot her birthdate down and got to work looking at what her number meant.

Aisling Nicole Dearcan- Ravenclaw My birthday is 27 Feb 2002. so adding 27 together for 9, then 2 for the month and 4 equals my year, I get 15. Reduce that once more to get 8. My life path number is 6.

My life path number says that I'm to be helpful to people. That I have a sympathetic ear but that I must learn in life to be helpful, not just a sounding board with empathy. I like this idea, as I think it does describe me well. It also described balance. Sometimes I don't feel very balanced, but I do try to keep the peace among friends and family, or at least I did when they were around. Family, I mean, my friends are all here. It says that I have to be careful about carrying the burden of the world on my shoulders. I think that's pretty true since I tend to blame myself for a lot or for not being able to help more.

For my birthdate - 27, I really resonate with the part that said I had the "ability to act in the most original ways making them obviously different from the others." This sometimes gets me odd looks since I don't always seem to react to things the way others expect me to. The part that did not resonate though, was the part that said I have a tendency to dominate. I don't think that's true at all.

In conclusion, I don't think these numbers define me. I think they can be used as a tool to better understand myself, but my choices in life are still my own. I can be/think/act anyway that I choose, and so my life path number and birth-date numbers do not define me, they merely give a guide to someone who hasn't met me as to how I might be similar to other people with the same birth-date number or life path. My birth-date description said, "You are tolerant, and you value freedom of expression, as well as freedom of life style, religion, and other areas." I think that's pretty true.

Chell took her seat in the classroom and sighed. Arithmancy, or as she called it, mystical math, wasn't her favorite subject. Fortunately, Professor JΓ€ger typically made it fun. Smiling she put ink to parchment and began her essay.

Arithmancy Essay by Chell Belliveau, Ravenclaw Life Path Number Calculation: March 5, 2001 3rd Month: 3 5th Day: 5 2001: 2+0+0+1 = 3

3+5+3 = 11 (Master Number)

Birthdate Number: 5

After reading the textbook about having a Life Path Number of 11, I feel as though it is very fitting for me personally. I'm rather shy and introverted, but I would like to work on that aspect to ultimately better myself. It made my giggle a little that this seemingly random number confirmed that, "Try to become more confident and sociable, it will be a start of the brand new period in your life if you feel like stagnation." However, it did hit home when the text mentions, "Your gained achievements are easily forgotten when you see at least one disadvantage. Nobody is perfect." This is something I have to remind myself quite often. Being sorted into Ravenclaw, I feel sad when I don't make top marks. For example, with my potions explosion last term; I'm hoping to improve my attention to detail and ultimately become a better student.

Turning to the appropriate pages, I also learned about having a Birthdate Number of 5. Though it is considered the least important, I find it quite revealing and complimentary for my Life Path Number. I agree wholeheartedly with the text when it says, "You love change, travel and adventure. You are a bit of a rolling stone." Moving from the muggle world to the wizarding world was a big change, but one I dove into without looking back! This entire journey through school has been an adventure and I can't wait to see what unfolds.

Overall, I feel as though I have come to understand myself better after reading into what each number means to me.I think the numbers help me fine tune my focus for who I am and what I should concentrate on to further not only my education, and work on aspects of myself that would improve my life.

Lenore looks through the doorway quietly. It was Professor Howard who had caught her attention at first. She enjoyed the way that he looked even if she would never think too deeply about a teacher in that way. But then... something about the stance of the professors struck her as off, ominous in way. Her eyes narrowed as she watched the proceedings, wishing that she could hear them more clearly. Was this connected to whatever had necessitated the early curfew? Probably, things at Hogwarts always seemed to be connected.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the pair of professors noticing the students and soon the lesson drove the thoughts of curfews and mysteries to the back of her mind. She would have to think more about them later.

Lenore Addlebourne - Slytherin House

Life Path Number 10th month - 1+0=1 ~ 1 12th day - 1+2=3 ~ 3 Year 2000 - 2+0+0+0=2 ~ 2 1+3+2= Life Path 6

Birth Day Number 12th Day = 12 or reduced 3

Looking into my Birth Day number has been interesting but not surprising. Both the 12 and the reduced version of 3 represent a creative mind. The hobbies and talents listed are my own, writing, fashion, wit, but it fails to mention the more outstanding qualities that I see in myself. Creativity is only a small piece of the greater wandering spirit personality that I hold. Adventure and travel are best with a creative eye, seeing the world from many perspectives and enjoying the beauty and inspiration that each new experience offers. Where the numbers 12 and 3 focus on using creativity in a practical manner to produce new things in the world, I use my creativity for taking things in. I live mostly in my mind and perhaps one day will be able to do what I can't now and give that creative thinking to the rest of the world.

Both versions of my Birth Day number came with a darker side as well: a warning not to give into indulgence and to learn self-discipline. This piece of the text makes me wonder - Who wrote this warning? Obviously not someone with the creative and explorative mentality. If I were to follow this warning I would only be hindering the spirit that has been given to me. Indulgence should be moderated of course, but it can be used and enjoyed to enhance the creative mind. Self-discipline should be treated with caution. Limitations are only good if they aren't too tightly bound.

Moving on to my Life Path number of 6, I'm quite disappointed with what I've read. Number 6 is the Caretaker and is said to focus on the nurturing of others. This conflicts greatly with my solitary and aesthetic nature. It is also said to by charismatic and good in politics by way of natural choice. With my family background these things have been cultivated in me and I do appreciate them greatly. However, they are only a small piece of who I am and I consider them to be more tool than personality. Yes, I have a natural poise and elegance but I would attribute that to a theatrical personality rather than a political one.

Overall, I've learned that numbers can't determine a person. Or rather, I should say that I've found further proof of my belief that numbers can't determine a person. There simply aren't enough numbers in the world (and a very limited number for this process!) to describe every personality combination out there. I would much rather discover myself through exploration and introspection than on the page of a book with limited insight. And I suppose that sums up who I am to some degree: I am an explorer.

Niamh stared at the professor, trying to understand what he'd been saying. Eventually, she picked up her quill and began to write:

Niamh Doyle, Gryffindor My date of birth: Aug 15th 2003

8th month - 8 15th day - 1+5 - 6 2003 - 2+0+0+3 - 5 8+6+5 = 19 1 + 9 = 10 1 + 0 = 1

Life Path number: 1

Apparently a life path number 1 means I want to control something, and have excessive vanity, preferring appearances to moral values. I seriously think I was born on the wrong day, as I feel I am a better fit for life path 4 than life path 1. Life path 4 is an organised personality, who knows that hard work and determination are the key points to success. That's definitely a better description of myself.

My birth day number is 15 - this means I have artistic potential, with a skill for visualisation. Apparently this also makes me too sensitive to criticism and I help others too much, so they stop valuing that assistance. That does fit me better than my life path number, as I know I am probably too eager to help others. I've not been aware of sensitivity to criticism though, so that plus my personality not really fitting with my life path number surely proves I was born a few days early.... or late.

They tend to keep more to themselves in childhood and attain success later as adults during or after their thirties. I'm not really aware of the impact of my presence on others unconsciously, but I do feel that my intuition guides me in the natural world. Most of my childhood was spent exploring alone close to home so that bit rings true. I have a deep interest in the sea but I don't know what I want to do with it yet, so I'll need more time than some to figure out how to set goals and achieve my dreams.

My Birth Day number is 13. 13 is known as the Rock. Those born on the 13th love nature, family, and creativity. This means that I must channel my creative soul into practical outlets through organization, hard work, and dedication. I am a diligent person and I do value my family and nature above all else. 13s are also known to be stubborn and single-minded in their pursuits.

These numbers, 11 and 13, mean that the intuition from my Life Path number must be guided by the hard work of my Birth Day number. They describe me accurately only in some ways, but I do agree with the main characteristics of the numbers. The numbers reveal that in my life success will lead to motivation, and that perseverance is key. I am defined in Numerology as someone looking for a steady path to take to the top.

I have come to better understand myself because I prefer to set short-term goals and haven't yet begun to give much thought to the grander picture of the life path that I should take.

Keet Arlie, Ravenclaw Life Path Number Calculation January 13, 2001 Month: 1 Day: 1 + 3 = 4 Year: 2 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 3 1 + 4 + 3 = 8

Life Path Number: 8

According to my calculations, my life path number is 8. People with this life path number are supposed to be natural leaders, and are also supposed to be good at accumulating wealth. If they are not careful, they can also become greedy. Honestly, I do not think most of this sounds like me, it is more like the complete opposite. I would shy away from positions of leadership or power. I don't like being in charge of other people, and would much prefer to just do my own thing. I also don't really care about money that much, as long as I have enough to get by. To me, there are many things in life more important than money. However, the life path number 8 description also says that we are good judges of character, which I think is fairly accurate for me. My first impressions about people are usually proven to be correct.

Birth Day Number: 13

My birth day number is 13. People with this birth day number are supposedly practical and grounded. I'm not sure how well that applies to me, as I can be quite eccentric and abstract at times. However, thirteens are also supposed to be artistic and good at expressing themselves. This certainly rings true for me; I love to draw and aspire to be a magical artist in the future. People with my birthday number also love and appreciate nature. This is certainly true for me. I especially enjoy learning about, and spending time with, magical creatures. Thirteens also are conscientious, hard workers, and are good at concentrating for long periods of time. Again, I think this is true for me, especially as a Ravenclaw student!

All in all, I think studying our life path and birth day numbers can give us an interesting perspective on ourselves. Reading the descriptions of my numbers certainly made me pause for some introspection. However, I also feel that they should be taken with a grain of salt. Not everything in my number descriptions was completely accurate. After all, how much can our birthdays really reveal about our individual personalities?

Amelia Tudor | Hufflepuff Millie stood and watched the exchange between Professors JΓ€ger and Howard with confusion. "What's happening?" she asked herself under her breath. They were finally allowed in the classroom and Millie slide into her usual seat. She had formed a love/hate relationship with Arithmancy but she needed at least an OWL in order to become a curse breaker but it wasn't enough for her. She was determined to get a NEWT in the subject, eventually.

She pulled out a quill and several pieces of parchment, in case she messed up on her assignment. She wrote name at the top of the page and her birth date 7/13/2002

Life Number: 7 13 2002 7+1+3+2+0+0+2= 15 1+5=6 Life number = 6. She pulled her copy of Numerology and Grammatica from her bag and found the appropriate page. She wrote: Those with a life number of 6 are kind people who gladly help those in need. They offer their opinions when needed to help others. They would would be successful at positions such as healers and a business owner and organizer. A problem associated with those with life number 6 is they tend to meddle in the affairs of other too often, causing stress with these relationships. While they are trying to help, they tend to overstep their bounds. I agree with these statements. I have been told I would make an excellent healer and while I try to be very helpful to those in need, I do overstep my bounds. My mum often tells me, "I can not pour from an empty cup", which I believe is a muggle expression. I often try to be too helpful of those I care for and often end up overstepping and stressed. I need to learn balance in order to maintain a healthy life.

My birthday number is 13. "Greatest Strengths: You have a great love of family, tradition and community. You are the foundation of any enterprise you commit to, doing your work with determination and precision. You love things that are solid and grounded in the practical." "Greatest Weakness: You can be stubborn and rigid, refusing to allow new and creative ideas to penetrate your rigid adherence to established methods. This can, and often does, lead to frustration and repression for you." These mentioned strengths and weaknesses are accurate for me. I am very loyal to my family and friends, and I work with determination. I also enjoy things that are practical. However, I am very stubborn in my ways and change can upset me and through me into a tizzy

Elizabeth Amalia Covington ~ Slytherin

My birthday is 28th December 2001.

Life Path Number: Month: 12 -> 1 + 2 = 3 Day: 2 + 8 = 10 -> 1 Year: 2 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 3

3 + 1 + 3 = 7

My life path number is 7. ...isn't seven the most powerfully magical number...? 7's tend to be most comfortable by themselves, which I can confirm is true - I'm not an introvert, but I prefer to do things on my own. Furthermore, I'd rather live a quiet and peaceful life instead of a busy one. It is described that 7's are very spiritual, though I'm not that sure about it. I never saw anything in Divination nor received a 'higher calling'.

The book says that it can be difficult for me to form close relationships because I value my independence. It even mentions that there's a possibility of losing my consideration for others and becoming inflexible. While this is true, I see no problem with that. I was raised to be sceptical to a certain point as you can never be sure when someone is using you - that's why I stay for myself most of the time. I try to open up, but I always wonder if I maybe said to much to someone and tend to feel very uncomfortable later when I spoke about personal stuff. But I think I'm on a good way finding my balance.

7's are prone to be very intellectual, intuitive and reserved, but they are pessimistic, secretive and insecure as well. They're thinkers and perfectionists. I'm able to agree with this completely - though I don't see why secretive should be a negative aspect as the book states so. There's nothing wrong with everyone having a little secret. My standards for everything are pretty high and I get easily unsatisfied if my work is not as good as I wanted it to be. I tend to often withdraw into my own world to ponder deeply as well. I especially liked the quote 'When you find what you've been searching for the level of your enthusiasm rises and your mind produces great ideas' - it's highly aesthetic and true.

I always try to find out what others want to hide from me, and get a look behind the scenes. According to the book, I should learn to follow my intuition. Every now and then I seem reserved, so that only someone who also pays attention to every detail can really understand me. The book says that no matter where 7's are, their environment treats them with respect - something dignified emanates from them.

My birthday number is 28 - the wide world view and the sense of responsibility.

The book says I possess a deep analytical mind, my rational approach to business is giving me success in anything I do. I am able to develop excellent plans, organize and direct people as well. 28's have excellent business skills and are extreme in everything they start - assertive, energetic, ambitious and determined. In relations with other people and in achieving their own goals, they are straight and persistent. I do say this is true as I'm highly ambitious about nearly everything that catches my interest. However, I have a gentle personality and I try my best that nobody sees it as weakness and tries to take advantage of it.

28's are not made to be followers. They can direct larger groups of people with ease and logic. Furthermore, they have a brilliant mind and are able to solve complex problems, as well as being able to make sensical decisions. However, everyday routine kills their spark, which I can say for myself - I'm willing to take risks if it's something beneficial for myself or people close to me.

However, I'm also someone who can be very temperamental. I have a tendency to become irritated very easily, which can lead to fits of rage. I can also be a very stubborn person, something that can be an issue with relationships as I have the tendency to hold grudges against people who you feel have wronged you. I'm pretty stubborn and absolutely believe in everything that I do and this can make compromise very difficult.

28 is a complex number since it contains numbers with very different properties. As number 2 is the main figure for all numbers from 20-29, it is obviously the stronger one here. It says these people are soft and dependent on others, which might not be that true. But considering the emotional break-down I would probably suffer if my friends or family would abandon, I might say it is somewhat true. For number 8, it says I have a magnetic personality and a lot of people have told me about my charming side. All in all, 28 is a very solid number, packed with confidence and the ability to withstand difficulties.

Gryffindor (15) Paddy - 15 points

Slytherin (85) Anne - 15 points (+ 5 bonus points) = 20 points (I think you misunderstood what Kay was saying about people born on a double-digit day possessing additional characteristics. He was suggesting they check the reduced number as they would have characters from the double-digit number and the reduced number. In Elizabeth's case, it would be the number 9 not the numbers 2 and 8.) Lin - 15 points MerlinPendragon - 15 points poppet - 15 points Twilight_Wanderer - 15 points (+ 5 bonus points) = 20 points
