HA Challenge - House Spirit

[img align=left]https://i.imgur.com/eHm8s0z.png[/img]“Hello, and welcome to a new term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! For those of you that still don't know me, I'm Professor Aimee Torres and you'll see me in the Ancient Runes classroom dancing merengue or bachata sometimes.

I was asked to give the new students the first HA challenge and what better way to start school than celebrating our houses!

This week’s theme is House Spirit.

I want to see your colors and what represents you as part of that house, be original and have fun! I encourage every student to participate, remember to write your name and house with the entry – even if it should be obvious which house you belong to.”

Some rules for this challenge:

-You must make a NEW HA to participate – no recycling -Write down what makes you feel part of the house. -Use your house colors.

Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the challenge rules and theme shall be awarded 10 House Points!

This challenge will end Monday, June 25 at 11:59PM.

Being in Slytherin allows me to own my desire to be the best at everything that really matters to me, and to make a difference in the world as I mature, rather than giving up on my dreams and ambitions. Some people don't want much out of life and are uncomfortable with those who do. Some people feel that it's unseemly for others--particularly women and girls--to be adamant about sticking to their goals rather than being self-effacing and concerning themselves with everyone's comfort but their own.

Being in Slytherin also means acknowledging the beauty and meaning of tradition. Even though I will acquire power and influence with age, and will not be afraid of making the changes needed for our world to be a better place than it is today, I keep in mind that even when I disagree with traditions, they have lasted as long as they have for good reason. The world is not perfect and many things need to be fixed. Sometimes outmoded ways of doing things must be discarded to make the world fairer for others, but I want to preserve what is good and beautiful in traditional wizarding culture.

Being in Slytherin means that even though I acknowledge the good things about the non-magical world--even though I embrace some forms of technology, and am inspired by fashion, musical and artistic trends that wouldn't be possible without technological globalisation, I am loyal first and foremost to the magical world. I'm not sure whether continuing to hide the magical world from everyone else will always be the best way to ensure our safety, but I accept that there currently are, and may always be, a need for discretion, even (hopefully rarely) exclusion, of those who don't value this world and want to protect it.

Being a Slytherin means that while I don't choose my friends based on what they can do for me or who their parents were, I actively choose to spend my time with people who want the best for themselves and their friends, who want to succeed in life and have ambitions of their own. People who don't have ambitions of their own can be threatened by the talents and successes of others and don't always understand why you aren't always available for fun stuff when you're working on your goals. Some people become uncomfortable when they see you moving ahead and try to hold you back, or discourage you from sticking to your plans. I don't want to do that to anyone else and I don't want anyone to do that to me.

Being a Gryffindor means being the center of attention. To show the most house pride, to be over the top, to make other houses wish they were Gryffindors. To be a good example to other wizards, and to get your name out there!

What makes me feel like a Hufflepuff... Cuddling in front of the fire. Little green plants. Cups of creamy cocoa. Bumble bee socks. Baking at two in the morning. Wishing on dandelions. Jumpers that are much too big. Reading fairy tales with the voices. Cinnamon sticks. Butterfly kisses. Rereading a favorite book. Humming during chores. Surprised hugs. Clover honey. Rain gently hitting the roof. Using lock of hair as pretend mustaches. Holding on to old letters, just 'cause. Laughing until you can't breathe. Dad jokes. Small notes of encouragement. Hand-knitted blankets. Dirt under fingernails. Attention to detail. French toast. Dancing to feel better. Phone calls that last for hours. Stuffed animals that have survived years of napping. Outfit Not Found Parker truly feels like a Slytherin when she's out with her house cheering on their Quidditch team. Naturally they're winning of course, because that's what Slytherins do at any cost.

Charlie lives and breathes everything Ravenclaw - so what better way to show her house spirit than what she normally looks like coming down for a morning coffee in the common room after a good night's sleep?

She really identifies with the love of knowledge and learning in Ravenclaw House, thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to solve challenges and riddles to expand her thinking. At the same time, she does feel like she can identify with some aspects of the other three houses as well, which is why she treasures her hair ribbon that celebrates all four founders.

Ravenclaw is the perfect place for me because it is full of like minded individuals who see the purpose of studying and learning as much as possible. When I think of Ravenclaw house I think of elegance, grace and wisdom.
