Complicated question, maybe! I picked up a pet from the pound to hold for a friend, but she just decided to let me adopt one of hers, which in turn will give her room. I didn't mean for it to seem like a trade, I could've kept the pet for her in the pound but we didn't want it to get grabbed by someone else while she didn't have room, adopting out one of hers to me was an idea we had after the fact x''D So is doing this okay, or does it count as trading? We just mean to adopt pets out to one another, not a trade, but I want to make sure!

edit: She pounded one of her other pets she didn't want anymore to make room for the pet I gave her, but still gave me the pet I liked, but i'm still interested in knowing where the line goes in terms of trading. I just don't wanna do anything wrong D:

I think this would probably be best dealt with by filing a ticket and asking a user admin. They'll be able to give the best answer as to whether or not something counts as breaking the rules.

Definitely make a ticket about it, but the staff will probably fine about it. I had a similar situation a few years back in which another user and myself ended up being picked to adopt each other's pets (Malicious and Overcast, I think? :0 ), and staff were ok about it. Sometimes it happens!
