Are you interested in teaching a lesson? Now's your chance! Now that we have a few examples out of what our classes are like, we'd like to open the floor to see if any of you have some informative lessons in mind! Given we have enough submissions, we'd love to be able to post one member-submitted lesson once every two weeks.
For your lesson, you'll be acting as one of our current members of staff or retired/visiting staff members (Triwizard Faculty and Staff Table coming soon!), imparting what you know best about the Wizarding World. If you'd rather not use one of our characters, you may create a "guest speaker" (please also create an avatar to use!) to speak to the school about a subject.
The subjects currently at Hogwarts: Charms Transfiguration Herbology Potions Defense Against the Dark Arts History of Magic Astronomy Care of Magical Creatures Muggle Studies Arithmancy Divination Ancient Runes Flying
BUT you can talk about subjects that are not part of the curriculum too! For instance, if you'd like to speak about Healing Magic and have a guest speaker from St. Mungo's, that would be fine too!
When you have your lesson all written out, all submissions should be sent to through sMail! This way we're able to keep the lesson (and the answers) from being seen before we're ready.
If your lesson is used, you will earn 75 points for your House! Keep in mind, however, that if your lesson is used, you will not be allowed to submit answers for the lesson!
A few rules: 1.) You are only allowed to submit one lesson at a time. If your lesson is used, you are allowed to submit another, but it may be a while before it is used! 2.) Admins may reject your lesson for any reason. If we do, we will let you know why it was rejected. You are then allowed to submit a new lesson. 3.) Please do not reuse a topic that has already been covered by the admins! 4.) Your lesson (not including explaining the assignment) should be at least 250 words in length. Keep in mind that this is a MINIMUM, and any lesson should cover its topic fully, regardless of the length. 5.) You can suggest how many House Points will be given out for the assignments, however the admins reserve the right for final decision on how many points will be awarded.
As you can probably imagine, there aren't enough weeks in the term to ensure that everyone has a chance to have their lesson used. Since that's the case, if you submit a lesson, it may be until the next term or so before we are able to use it! If you for any reason feel like you'd rather have us wait to use yours until the next term, let us know! We'll keep it in mind.
Submissions will remain open indefinitely!

I know on the old post one of the rules was refraining from roleplay. Is that no longer a requirement? I'm working on my first assignment and was hoping the first section of the class would be open for just questions. It could also work at the end of the class, however it would still be role-play based.
you probably want to ping Bennet so she knows you asked your question. <3
You can submit a roleplay-based lesson. I removed it from our rules since we have had a roleplay MTC before. However, it cannot be open roleplay (i.e. Arithmancy - Lesson - What are numbers?).
Your roleplay-based lesson would have to be like ILVERMORNY - Flying - Lesson - Quodpot or Charms - The Avifors Charm (MTC) or other "practical assignments".
From the sounds of it, your lesson at the moment would be an open roleplay. MTCs are submitted by members but are run by the admins. At the current moment, we don't have the availability to commit to a lesson like that. I highly suggest applying to a run a workshop (Workshops - FAQ and Seventh Term Signup). Our roleplay admins will be making a new workshop thread soon.
