After about two months of horrible heat and dryness it started to rain here this morning around 5am. I woke up from the sound, immediately rushed outside and just enjoyed the raindrops on my face. Five hours later it is still raining (softly) and I'm so happy for nature, everyone suffering from pollen allergy and for my own rain-loving self.
Any others out there suffering from heat and dryness or any other kind of weather circus? In some areas here in my country it hasn't rained for three months straight while other areas got flooded by severe thunderstorms.
I don't complain about something I can't control. But anytime rain falls, I sing praise. More so if it's a thunderstorm, and more still if at night. Our first rain was in May, after the week or so of spring weather.
Watching the ducks and geese savor the shower is just as enthralling, they didn't complain when it flooded in 2017. Ten inches in an hour ...
I think where I live is heading into the 6th soggy week with flooding to accompany is because the ground's supersaturated. You want my rain? I'm kind of done with it.

Same as what said, weโve been getting rain almost every day for weeks. Flooding in areas that arenโt normally prone to flooding!
No rain for months. Supposed to rain tomorrow. We shall see.

We went a few weeks without any rain and high humidity pretty quickly. Though now over the last 2 weeks, we get random storms coming up. Some strong and some not so much.
Its been enjoyable though. Loss of power and internet has become some awesome date nights with the hubby. LOL. Water color painting by candle light is fun. ^.^ Esp when using rain water. <3
It hasn't rained where I am (somewhere in the Midlands in England) for probably over a month now and it's been hot constantly for weeks and weeks. The grass is scorched and the trees are starting to shed their leaves already because they're so dry. In other parts of England there have been wildfires which is really rare over here because while it can get hot in summer, it's usually rainy and humid and the heatwaves we get are intermittent and not constant. A few areas have had storms and heavy rain but not where I am. I can't wait to feel the rain on my face.
We keep getting short storms of ~10-15 minutes every couple of weeks. It rains heavily during that time but it's not enough. I think we have a moderate or severe fire risk rn and lightning the other day started a fire ~45 minutes away. At least the storm last night lowered temperatures here. It's 21 degrees today instead of 35 with a humidex of 44.
I feel so bad for people in places like Montreal where 33 people have died from the heat. :(
Weโre in a drought & have been waiting for rain. Itโs a huge relief from the heat. Even a summer breeze feels like a blow dryer here! 85% chance tonight & the clouds are brewing!
Well, here it's been dry for weeks once again - nature just looks sad and the risk of forest fires is at the highest possible level, I think even coughing after eating chili could wreak havoc. I'm filling my bird bath daily to at least help those poor critters a bit. I hate this summer so much...
