Looks like a wolf spider to me. Maybe a Hobo spider? It's kinda hard to see.
I never even thought of those.
My parents had a wolf spider in their bathroom years ago. It was big and ugly
Reverse Image Search says Wolf Spider. That thing is huge and creepy. :(
Is it venomous? D: googles
It won't make you sick, it's just....unpleasant, like most bites. A friend of mine got bit by one, they complained for a day or two about how it itched and then it went away.
That's not too bad. I just don't killing things, other than mosquitoes or blackflies.
I catch and release too. I even feel bad for squishing ants but when I feel a crawling sensation on my body my first reaction is to slap whatever it is.
If you could provide a general region where you found it it would be easier to identify. I don't want to ask for your location, but I can tell you that where I'm from, wolf spiders and hobo spiders don't look like that. I'd be careful.

It's not that bad? lol
I killed a running crab spider last week and felt horrible about it. They're a "good spider". They eat other spiders and bugs and their bite is not poisonous to humans.
So, I asked my resident spider expert (aka, my boyfriend). He said that it's definitely not a wolf spider or a hobo spider...or a trapdoor spider. He said judging by the picture (specifically the second picture) that it's most likely an orb-weaver spider. The second picture shows the spider on a web. Since it's on a web, it's not a wolf spider as they don't spin webs. Either way, it's harmless.
