My coworker called our maintenance guy to the front lobby 'stat' and I'm looking around like 'wtf nothing is going on'. So he comes up and I look to my right from my desk just as a tiny little grey blur goes running past the desk and down the hallway. I jump up and run that way because OMG ITS A MOUSE and I didn't want the guys to hurt him, lol. I was pretty sure they wouldn't, but who am I to pass up a chance to see my coworkers make idiots of themselves while trying to catch a tiny mouse?! So four of us - the two maintenance guys, myself, and another coworker - are running up and down the hallways, crouching and diving after this poor little creature, until finally one of the guys and I corner the little bugger by a chair. AND I CAUGHT HIM! I grabbed him carefully with one hand and quickly put another hand around him so I wasn't squishing and scaring him. He went to bite me once, but didn't break the skin. He just sat there in my hands until I went outside and let him go in the bushes. SO. DAMN. CUTE. He wasn't shaking or peeing (thank GOD) or biting or anything. He just sat there until I opened my hands near the bushes and then he just hopped off and went into the bushes. It was like he knew I wouldn't hurt him. He was so CUTE and so SOFT and did I mention CUUUUUUUTE?!?! I hope the little guy stays safe out there and out of the building!
Just thought you guys should know. ^_^
Aww, mice (and all rodents really) are SO cute. :) You should be careful when handling wild animals, though. They can carry a lot of diseases that can be passed on to humans.
Do you guys get a lot of rodents in the building? You could set up some live traps that wouldn't hurt the animals but would allow them to be safely captured so they could be released again.
YOU ARE A MOUSIE! XD
We don't normally get mice in the building though. It was because they just installed new doors to the patio and they don't seal right on the bottom. I went on a rampage at our maintenance guy because he was setting up kill traps in the kitchen. Then they kept mysteriously getting broken shiftyeyes so now we have live traps. He set them because he knew there'd be mouse problems with the construction that's been going on.
LOL I admit I'm a bit biased when it comes to rodents. ;P
Ah, that's good that you have live traps now! I get so sad when people buy kill traps. :( I always encourage people to buy live ones instead but so many people say the kill ones are cheap (true, but probably not in the long run...) and they defend it with, "They're 'just' rodents." Ugh. People are gross.
