SO out of sheer boredom I decided to skim over the FAQ's of Subeta, and I happened across this little tidbit at the very beginning,

I have a name I have been hoping to have. Do usernames or pet names ever clear? Pet names and usernames are not really cleared. They do however become available after a certain time. In the past, inactive and frozen users would be totally deleted every so often. Now instead, if a user is inactive for a year or frozen for 10 months, their username and pet names will be available for anyone to use. The one exception is if a user has passed away, the username will be kept on the account as a legacy username. Their pet names however will be up after that time. If someone takes a name from an inactive account and the user comes back, they will have a free name change to help start again. Any pet or user who has their name taken will remain the same name with _#### on the end. For example, Bob would become Bob_92934.

Yeah, that bit about a deceased user, how on earth do you know if a member of your site has passed away? Do you guys keep that close of tabs, what if their friends on here don't know that they have passed away??

Someone has to file a ticket about it. I don't know if or what kind of proof is required (but I do know the ticket can come from the deceased's account). If the deceased had friends that were staff members, they might have been notified by their loved ones. Then the account is marked similarly to an inactive one, with a notice that says it belongs to a deceased user and the pet names will clear on such-and-such date

Subeta is small enough and friendly enough that we do know other people who play here, and some users are and were very well liked. Sometimes they will tell us that they are ill/very sick and sometimes kin will come on on their accounts and let folks know.

Having your username bronzed for all eternity is not required. You can file a Ticket expressing your wishes on the matter, if you like.

I never wanted anything bronzed lol I just thought that was pretty cool. I have been on many sites, and none of them have a feature that honors a deceased member. That is kind of awesome.
