[QUOTE=] NATIONAL PARANORMAL DAY

Paranormal is a term used to describe occurrences that can’t be explained by ordinary scientific measures.
They are outside the norm. Do you believe in ghosts? Whether you’re a skeptic or psychic, National Paranormal Day might just be the holiday for you. If you have ever experienced something beyond the norm or have had an inexplicable otherworldly happening, National Paranormal Day is the day to find others to discuss your eerie experiences with.

Seeing is believing, or at least so the old adage goes. But is it? Because despite how tempting it would be to believe that if you can’t see, hear or touch something, it doesn’t exist, there have been thousands upon thousands of people who seem certain that they have in fact witnessed or even come into direct contact with things science just can’t explain and that there is sometimes absolutely no evidence for. UFOs. Ghosts. Chupacabras. Do they exist? And if not, why have there been so many sightings and close experiences? Paranormal Day is all about trying to answer these question!

Reported events include teleportation, poltergeist events, falls of frogs, fishes, and inorganic materials of an amazing range, crop circles, unaccountable noises and explosions, spontaneous combustions, levitation, unidentified flying objects, and mysterious appearances and disappearances, to name but a few.

Paranormal Day was created in 2013 to help us give some thought to the things we do not know in hopes of learning more about the universe we live in with all its dimensions, oddities, and great unknowns.

Paranormal Days

Challenge:

  1. Did you ever encounter a paranormal activity? If so, and you feel comfortable with it, please share the story or even stories with us! If not, would you look forward to such an occurance?

  2. How is your HA celebrating Paranormal Day? Visiting a haunted gouse or a graveyard? Pulling out the old Qujia Board? Looking at some scary movies? Practizing teleportation? Disguising as a paranormal superstar? Show of your ideas!

As always, you are allowed to use all wearables, CWs included, you don´t have to own them. Please use surroundings.

Please post the HAs here in the thread and please don´t use HAs you already used for other Subeta contests before.

End date is 6th of May midnight Subeta time. Have fun!

@ ulalena ohhh this sounds fun!! haha!

  1. Well I've had unexplainable shadows and sounds happen at our house while we're in US/Canada..... One time I was in the bathroom and I heard outside a deep clearing throat sound, the only male in our house is my dad but it doesn't sound like his.. Also I sometimes see shadows appear for only one second, I guess only to disappear... They don't bother me and I'm not scared.

  1. My sister and I have always been very in-tune with ghosts. She a little more than I. We played with a ouji board and put it up on the game shelf and it shook and kept coming down. We even put it under other games so it wouldn't fall, thinking it was just staked precariously but it still fell again. As if the spirits wanted us to communicate with them. I don't play with ouji boards anymore. I have heard they trap bad spirits inside them...

  2. An alien, if they don't come to kill us might be fun to meet one Outfit Not Found

Ooh this is a fun one! I've always loved this type of stuff even though I don't believe in it. Mysteries are just the best. Aliens/UFOs are my favorite "paranormal" thing.

I've had a few experiences that I currently have no good explanation for. I want to preface this by emphasizing again that I don't believe in supernatural stuff like ghosts or demons and while I do believe it's possible there is other intelligent life out there, and I really want there to be, I think it's highly unlikely they've visited us. I seek rational, scientific explanations for everything and never jump to paranormal conclusions...if we don't understand something yet (and there are lots of things we don't understand), that's all it is: we don't understand it yet, so we should investigate it further. It's ok to say we don't know.

This guy though...he always knows what it is.

Look, this time he was right! Wow, an actual alien! It must be here to help us build some pyramids or something because that's definitely a good use of an interstellar traveler's time! XD

Private Outfit

Anyway, if you're interested in my weird experiences, they're under here

  1. This happened a couple years ago, the most recent and honestly hardest to explain of all my experiences. I was sitting here at my desk. My monitor was on a monitor stand, which was well below eye-level of course, and on that monitor stand I had a few objects I'd just gotten from my friend that day while helping her move. These objects consisted of three almandine garnet crystals of varying sizes and one strange little bracelet made of beads with some sort of biblical imagery on them, Jesus and stuff. The crystals were sitting inside the bracelet and...well, here, I just now took a picture of how I had them arranged, that's easier than describing it. LINK As you can see, those garnets weren't going to roll away or anything as the chunky bracelet contained them quite effectively. Ok, so there they were just sitting there, and I'm sitting at my desk, and for some reason I turned to my left, away from my computer. I had my whole body turned to the side so my back was to this stuff. Suddenly, something pelts me in the upper back. I look around to see what it was and discover it was one of those garnets. It had to gain elevation to hit me in the back and it hit me fairly hard...even if it could have rolled off my desk, it couldn't have hit me that way. I live alone. The bracelet and other two garnets remained unmoved on the monitor stand. Nothing else fell down or anything. So that was the day Jesus threw a rock at me I guess. (I now keep that creepy bracelet locked in a wooden box. No I'm not superstitious. The garnets have been well-behaved members of my mineral collection ever since.)

  2. I do a lot of stargazing so I'm pretty familiar with how objects in the sky move, planes and satellites and meteorites and so forth. One night I saw a light moving pretty quickly through the sky which I assumed was either a satellite or a very high-altitude aircraft. I watched it just because it was the only thing moving up there. Suddenly, it made a very rapid 90-degree turn, without appearing to change its speed at any point, and then continued on its new course until it was out of sight. Just, zip, suddenly it was going the other way. As far as I know, no aircraft we have can maneuver like that. I believe that was the night a major satellite was deorbited though, so my best guess is that what I saw was a large piece of it perhaps breaking off perpendicular to the main body of the craft and burning up just as the first piece blinked out? I can't seem to imagine that really looking the way I saw it (it really appeared to be one object changing direction suddenly) but it's the best explanation I can come up with.

  3. Ok, this one was a long time ago at scout camp. We had these very simple wood cabins we stayed in with an open door at one end and bunks in the corners. The walls were of solid construction, not like a house where there are gaps between studs filled with insulation. Just solid wood, logs or whatever, but quite thin. Every night when we went to bed, the knocking would start, loud and rhythmic, although the rhythm would vary. It occurred at one specific point on the wall and sounded like it came from outside or inside the wall (obviously we watched and made sure there wasn't a kid knocking on it; it wasn't even near a bunk, it was the center of a plain, undecorated wall in a pretty empty room). Of course most of the kids freaked out the first time this happened, so we ran over and got the counselors from their cabin to check it out. There were no tree branches or anything anywhere near the exterior. No kids or animals or anything. It was easy enough to get a view of both sides of the wall pretty much at once since one end had that open door; no one would have been able to run out of view before you could catch a glimpse of them. Yet the knocking continued, even as we watched, apparently from inside the wall. I was the only kid who would stay in that cabin the whole week because I just thought it was exciting and fascinating. Some of the others went to other cabins or went home early. I've talked to people who went to the same camp in their youth and remember that cabin with the knocking. My best guess with this one is it was a prank conducted by the counselors, perhaps a device implanted in the wall, although I remember looking for seams or hidden doors and not finding one. And why the heck would the counselors want to deal with a bunch of whiny, crying kids every night? They seemed as confused and flustered as the rest of us. So yeah, I'm still not saying it was ghosts. But it was one of those things everyone would say was ghosts.

I never gave the paranormal much thought other than the usual childhood telling of ghost stories and my grandma playing with her ouija board. (Used to piss my mom off for some reason)

But when we moved into our current home I swear I've seen a little girl on our stair case. I never felt she was distressed or upset but just living in harmony with me and my family. At the time my daughter was a toddler so I know it wasn't her. Now that I am thinking about I haven't seen her for some years and this contest got me thinking about her, so I'll have to keep my eyes out for an appearance. And maybe she just moved on?

Private Outfit I made a girl who talks to ghosts and her ghost sidekick! I imagine they go to haunted locations and try to connect with/help ghosts so they can pass on or at least live happier afterlives.

With the paranormal myself, I don't believe in ghosts. I've had weird experiences, but I believe that as humans, we look for meaning in everything and end up reading into things. I totally believe in aliens, though. It seems undeniable that SOMETHING has to be out there in the great big universe, but I don't think they've been to Earth or anything like that.

1. Story The most tangible paranormal experience I've had was when I was in kindergarten or first grade. I was at home with my mom and she was taking a nap upstairs and I was downstairs coloring a birthday card for my grandma. I got up from the couch and went into another room to get some more crayons and when I came back to the couch the card was there neatly torn in half. Mom, me and the cat were the only ones home. When mom woke up later I showed her the card and told her what happened. She didn't believe that I hadn't done it and said that I had cut the card in half with my scissors and took all my scissors away 'because I couldn't be trusted with them.' The card was that cleanly torn in half and it was made out of good heavy card stock. Personally I have always thought it was the ghost that 'lived' in our apartment and the one next door (this ghost also liked to play with babies when our neighbors had them, they would hear their babies laughing and 'talking' with someone even though there was no one there and she would rock their cradles and so on).

  1. Years ago, at night me and a few other family members saw lights in the sky, travelling here and there, seeming to move fairly quickly and they were kind of in line, like they were on the same 'object'. The lights would go here and there, making no noise we could hear. They would also disappear suddenly and appear a bit later elsewhere. Needless to say I believe in ufos/aliens

Private Outfit It may be simple (yet kinda complicated because the layering had to be exact for it to look how I wanted it to) but I really love how this turned out!

Anyway...

I have dealt with a spirit before in a home we lived in years ago in New Mexico. It would become agitated if the kids were upset, if my husband and I faught, or sometimes just because it felt like it. Late at night it would yell at me... "HEY! HEY 76!" OVER AND OVER! my youngest son was only a few months old at the time and he would "talk" to it when in his room alone. He would even pause to wait for a response, the heavy wooden rocking chair in his room would also rock by itself. Being raised Indian (no I don't use the term native american) we are brought up knowing that there are good and bad spirits, this was a case of a bad spirit, you could feel the negative energy in the house. So my cousin sent me a package from home in oklahoma, i had to bless the whole house with smoke from a smudge stick, wash us all and our clothing in special soap, I had to recite a blessing and demand it leave. We never heard it again. My uncle said we had a restless spirit that lost its way crossing over and it was angry but it was probably a female and had children when she was alive, which is why she was good around the baby. She terrified me and the other kids, my husband only witnessed it once, working nights he wasn't rarely home to see and hear it. The one night he did we left and stayed elsewhere (he was a big chicken) lol.

This contest is now closed, thank you so much for your partizipation! Wonderful entries! <3

Do I believe in paranormal activities? Two souls alas! are dwelling in my breast. With my conventional medicine background, I believe and trust in the Holy Grail of science, it´s always exact science and facts for me first yet I am open to conviction. Also, I am openminded to facts science couldn´t detect so far. If humankind had stopped science research, we would still think the sun would revolve around the earth. There are things unexplained, many, and there are people who feel vibes others don´t.

I have never seen a ghost so far. I woulnd´ t be surprised if I do some day, though. Who knows how many things between heaven and earth are undiscovered?

Here are some of my experiences….. As a child, I had a near-death experience. I was only 5 years old and knew nothing about these things. I fell from a high mountain all the way over rocky terrain until I reached the last shrub before the steap slope which I grabbed. However, when falling, I had an out-of-body experience, seeing my falling down and down and there was this movie in my mind, running backwards showing me all the incidents of my live. When coming to a spot where I had done something which was wrong (in the mind of a 5 year old) it stopped shortly, gave me time to reconsider my actions and on it went. In my mind, it was a much longer time than the fall. However, after reconsidering it all in all, I was back in my body and grabbed the last vegetation on the scarp, otherwise, I would have fallen hundreds of meters, being dead for sure. I tried to tell my parents yet they didn´t believe me. My mother was six months pregnant and we all were happy I hadn´t any severe injury and she got no shock. (There was more to it and the NDERF did some research on it and interviewed me and I had to fill out staples of questionaires and in the end, they came to the result that it was a real out-of-body/near-death experience. I am only stating this here so you don´t think I would exaggerate ^-^ . Nowadays, you can read all kind of literature concerning this theme yet not back then.)

When working in the hospital back then, my collegues from pediatric ICU always used to play with the Quija Board in their breaks. They encountered death in so many ways every day, they were curious. I was too young to give it a second thought at that time yet who knows?

Did I ever encounter paranormal activities in general? Perhaps. Once, I had a fierce fight with my former boy friend at the breakfast table. Usually a very calm and serene person, I felt so furious that I had the feeling all the rage would pour out of my breast. Suddenly, I heard a loud swearing and a clink and I saw my opposite blotted with marmelade. The teaspoon somehow flew out of the marmelade glass and hit him. Wow! Telekinesis of some kind? Or was the spoon on a strange angle anyway? Yet would it have covered such a stretch od distance? I don´t know, only that I certainly produced a lot of energy unable to contain in me at that time……

All other incidences I had were strictly connected to my cats. Premonitions, strange dreams, vibes. That´s the reason why my HA depicted below is smiling and weeping.

So for example when my first cat ever died, my beloved Mandy, only with 18 months, I had a feeling for weeks she would sit on my left shoulder. I even could feel the weight. It was somehow reassuring yet I was very young and dismissed it as wishful thinking.

13 years later when my second cat ever, Frida, crossed the rainbow bridge, I always had the feeling she wouldn´t adjust very good in the new realm she had entered. One day, in our new flat (we had to move one day after Frida left us), I felt some buzzing vibes around me and no, I still saw no ghost yet felt her presence - and the presence of other beings, beings which helped her adjust, which she let me feel for reassurance. It only lasted a minute yet it was a moment I´ll always remember fondly. I know she´ll be okay. Waiting for me? I don´t know. Do they wait? Do they go on?

My beloved cat Kea who I think is one of my soulmates crossed the rainbow bridge with only 6,5 years, renal failure. We worked with sbq fluids (infusions) for one year yet when the kidneys failed for good, she fell into a coma. I was so devastated. That very night, I had a very strange dream, one so real and vibrant and peculiar, I never had one like this before. With an elevator, it went down down down and then the door opened and I stand in a room with indifferent temperature, somehow greyish and there was no air turbulence: if you went some steps there, no wearable was moving and such. It smelled like when you are ironing with damp. Is this hell, I thought. Feels like it somehow. Yet what is hell anyway? If this was hell, it was more a kind of waiting room. There were bistro tables and all kind of beings were standing around, waiting. However, you couldn´t exactly see them. You could see something yet it was more like a … signature? I recognized Kea at once nevetheless. She was always a very vocal cat and told me all would be good, it would be okay to be there for her and no need to be sad. She was very vehement about this. I wasn´t allowed to stay long and had to go soon yet I felt much better the next day. And during the first year, I dreamed about her now and then. She always was out, at the terrace or the garden, and told me things. She wanted me to look after another cat which was sick (she was right and we didn´t know it at the time; it was her brother). She showed me she would be an ice bear for some time. She told me she has tasks to do. And every time I saw her again, our terrace door closed a bit more until it remained closed and I didn´t see her again. I am so longing to yet I think she has left the spheres perhaps in which it was possible for her to communicate like this.

When our dear Tana crossed the rainbow bridge last September after a year of chemotherapy, the brave one, we were determined to not adopt another cat into our trio. However, his friend Palila was so sad and so we deceided to look for a little companion for her yet didn´t find one. One night, I dreamed the terrace door dream and a light colored cat queen shoved a puny kitten in our direction, it was an only child. The next night, I had the same dream yet Tana appeared, too, letting us feel this would be the kit for us. We had almost relinquished our plans to adopt a Balinese kitten (because Palila and Lihue are Balineses, bred and rescue, as well) there were none in Germany and the Netherlands available at the time.
Suddenly, the next day, I got a mail from a breeder, telling me she would have an only kit in a litter and it would be very tiny yet if I would be interested, I could visit him! This I did and when I drove down to take him home, he was still so small he fitted into my hand even when 3 months old. Unbelievable he is 5300 grams now, LOL Strange dreams brought him into our family and he fits in like he would always have been here. And after joining our family, he stopped eating normal food the breeder recommended, he only eats the food Tana loved and which we already bundled up to give it away because he only ate food which contained fruit pieces like mango, ananas, passion fruit, kiwi and other strange ingredients like quinoa, aloe and such. In all the years, and with many cats, we only had these two males eating this very special cat food.

So, I told you a lot of very personal things in this post yet it´s a protected area here and I feel we are friends so I am sure you won´t laught at me..... :-)
