I may be interested in Nochi. I know it means "of the night" in Russian, and I already have several Russian-named pets (Kniga, Nasha, Yeda, and Dywa) because I studied it in college.
Gonna give it a further think and then come back if I can find a way for Nochi to fit in my family. :)

Did you name him yourself or did you find him? It's kinda funny - your pet Nycto's name also means "night", so you basically have two pets whose names mean the same thing. :)
Can I ask what your previous character or plans for him were? Sometimes I like to incorporate a pet's past into my characterization of them.
I named him. Was intended as a nickname for Enoch, but... didn't stick to me. XD Lucky to get a RW! Nycto was intentional though. :3
He was a shapeshifter trying to fit in human society and failing miserably. Let's say, a 'monster' with a good heart. This character actually went to Singer. I'm fine if you take inspiration on him. c:
oh man, I really need to purchase some slots, would really like to adopt Louder but I don't get my next payment till the 17th of next month.

I can understand, I am currently zapping a pet so a slot might come open if the pet gets a nice zap. Through, I am going to check my funds tomorrow and see if I can afford to purchase some more slots before than.

As far as I know, it isn't. I am holding a pet for someone myself. And I shall ask if they can post to confirm. :)

Okay, so I've thought about it, and here's my thoughts:
Nochi is the youngest child and only son of my Russian pet family (I should probably give them a last name, since they're not really Russian). His older sisters are:
[pet not found], Kniga, and Yeda.
Their father was a miner and their mother a cook for the mining camps where they grew up. He was kind of an accident who came along after his sisters had grown up and all but Yeda had gone away. Dywa and Kniga don't even know their brother. Their mother died in childbirth in the dead of night, and their father named him Nochi, "of the night". He later died in the mines.
Yeda is basically raising him. She cares for him, but she's too busy with her restaurant to really be a good mother, so she lets him do his own thing. Nochi changes his name pronunciation from no-chee to no-key. He also starts wreaking havoc all over the Airebis mountains and makes friends with the wrong sort of people. He's still very young - I'm imagining somewhere in the 9-12 age range - but he makes a grown up sort of trouble.
I like the idea of calling him no-key because if that was supposed to be short for Enoch, I imagine that's how you were pronouncing it. Also it sounds kind of like Loki, who is another inspiration for his character.
I think I might change him into a blacklight or dark matter species, but I am not sure yet. For now, I would keep him as is because he's already dark and mischievous looking. :)
