Currently in the process of planning a wedding, and one of the things we need to start compiling is a list of songs we want to play, both for the ceremony and the reception. We don't know enough musician friends for live music but one of our friends is a DJ who will play whatever we want and we realized how very out of touch we are with modern music. We don't like country much but our relatives do so nothing is out of the question. Any suggestions would be very helpful!

Maybe a little overrated but Perfect from Ed Sheeran really needs to be on my wedding :D

In my family, it's the habit to play a lot of oldies you can dance to like Elvis, a lot of popular swing songs, 80's, 90's

I feel like it's not a wedding if they're isn't at least one obligatory dance song, like the YMCA or the electric slide. I never been to a wedding that hasn't had one.... not that it would be a BAD thing if they didn't have them....

I just went to wedding and there was a harpist who played the music up until the dance party and it was surprisingly wonderful!!!!! The DJs for the dance party played requested songs which was never ending.
