Hello! Somewhat back here again and quite broke, so I'd like to gauge interest in my work, with the intention of taking commissions in the near future, and also to try and get back into the swing of things. Any feedback would be appreciated! [sup]especially with pricing [sup]pls?[/sup][/sup] :)

As for pricing, I think for a full piece I'd base it on average of how long it takes for you to finish them. So in the UK basic hourly rate is about £7, or about $10 at the current rate. So about 1000 CSC per hour. I definetly think your art is worth more than that though, so maybe £8.50/hour $12.10/hour 1300csc/hour or something along them lines :)

But, I do have to disagree :) Artists need more apreciation :D And I think it's only fair they at least get minimum wage for their skill Maybe if you feel uncomfortable pricing like that maybe try a little lower for the time being? Offering a full coloured piece for say 1500 csc or maybe 1000 csc?

I agree with the advice given by watermelon. Whilst it’s very generous to offer freebies and good for you to get feedback, you really shouldn’t undersell yourself. Work out an hourly price you would be happy with; if you get no takers, maybe look again.

i'll definitely sit down and try to figure out what the effort/time/cost balance will be.

i've done a couple of flat-coloureds in the 1000-1500csc/usd range before (a couple of years ago, by now?) so the range hits the mark 8D at the time i always felt like i could put in a little extra effort-wise and ask for a little more, but wasn't sure if that would turn people off. but i suppose it's worth testing out.

I think it's good to test the waters, see what works what doesn't. Trial and error. Everyone's different, and so is art. But don't give up!

For prices, I'd say 500-1000csc for a sketch (depends on headshot/waist up/full body). 750-1500 for flat color (depends on type) and 1500+ for color with shading (again depends on type). Backgrounds would depend on complexity. If you offer multiple characters, at least half for each extra character (though you could definitely charge full price!). I hope that helped somewhat. I'm not that great at pricing orz
