I'm an extreme newbie (had my account about 2 weeks now, but heavily using it for the past few days; did get some dancing in last week - woohoo!). And this may be the honeymoon period talking, but I absolutely love this site. And how can I count the ways?

First and foremost, everyone here (so far) has been super friendly and welcoming. And helpful. Insanely, wonderfully helpful. Not one person has acted like my questions are stupid or talked down to me for not knowing what I'm doing. It has really made me feel part of the community. (Shout-out to the Shoutbox people I chatted with a bit last night; you guys were incredibly sweet and absolutely hilarious.)

Secondly, the layout is fantastic. It's so clean and organized. I understand what things mean and how they function. Even more amazing is the customizability (is that a word? Is now) of the website. I get to move my widgets where I want, my profile, BOOKMARKS (this was new to me as of an hour or so ago)...this place is insane with do-it-how-you-like goodness. cries tears of joy I can create my own categories in my vault. I HAVE A DESIGNATED PLACE FOR MY MINIONS.

ALERTS. Can I just say...mind.blown. ? I have the memory of a gnat...or a fly? Something that can't remember for longer than 2 minutes. Anyway. So. While I'm dinking around on the website, getting to know it better, having a system set up to tell me when my pet is done training (among other things) is phenomenal. This may be my favorite feature.

I haven't gotten bored once while on the website. In fact, I get so irritated when I can't spend MORE time on here. There's so much to do, so much to learn...will I ever get into a routine of anything? I sincerely hope not. (Feel free to weigh in, old hats.)

My first site event (was it a holiday?) was the Masquerade. It was a blast. I wish I had been able to come on more often to do more dancing.

I love having an avatar to customize. And my kids are AMAZING (Presage, the jerk who doesn't like anything he reads, will turn Nightmare someday, I hope). I have a radioactive blob.

The creativity is astounding. The species of pets, the "colors" you can turn them...plus the items! Oh man. One of the first things I got was a Bloodred Razor...today I got Blood Soup. My love of horror and creepy knows no bounds, and these things delight me. The descriptors are wonderful. I often wonder what the staff is ah...on...to create such wonderful descriptions. More than half the things I've come across have made me cackle or belly laugh.

So thank you for a wonderful site to waste precious work hours on. My productivity is in the toilet, but I am enjoying myself immensely.

TL;DR: I don't know how people do things in real life when this site exists and beckons.

...I count as an old hand, I guess? Maybe? - I often feel like a newbie compared to a lot of the active players I see around the place, but I guess that is a pretty solid testimony all of its own, just how many people have played for upwards of a decade and are still going strong.

Certainly I've taken a lot of breaks for weeks/months at a time over the years: usually due to RL stuff; once or twice (in the dim and distant past, I'm thankful to say) due to frustration with things like Sql infestations.

The item descriptions are a blast, I'm forever stumbling across ones I've never seen/noticed before that brighten my day!

Firstly, welcome to Subeta! It sounds like you're having a ton of fun :)

Next, I'm pretty much echoing everything you said xD I am an older member, nearly 10 years (I am also old in RL, but that's my probem :p) I am still as hooked as the day I joined. Sure, I complain about things sometimes - nothing is ever completely perfect, but I'm still here and going strong. There is always something to do here, if you are prepared/able to put in the time and effort. And the holiday events are a lot of fun (Vesnali next, cannot wait!!)

I still remember how excited I was when I joined Subeta, and this thread has just reminded me of that - long may it continue ❤️

I love this place a lot.

I just passed my 12th anniversary and I've been away for a while. I came back and everything is still amazing.

Stuff I especially like:

• Art! Gosh the art on this site gets better every day. I love all of it. I like to click over to my pet's tab just to look at the art. I spent hours when I came back deciding what to do with all of my pet slots, and there's still more I'm hoping to get.

• Content! There's always new things. Always. So much new things. New pets and new items and new clothes and new games and new plots. It never stagnates.

• Not only that, but the constant re-availability of old things. Man is that the best. You guys understand that items made 15 years ago need to be re-released occasionally, even if the price is steep. Stuff like the antique shop and crystal shop are incredible and unique among site like this with item-based economies. I never ever feel like there's something on Subeta I'll just never have, and as a collector at heart, that means a lot to me.

• The staff is friendly and open. They offer solutions to our problems. They read this section! Thanks staff. You're awesome. Really.

• I'm going to repeat the part about loving my pets. The fact that it's become easier over the years to get new pets is really awesome, too. I don't know what I'd do with just four or even ten slots! I'd never have dreamed when I joined all those years ago that I'd have almost 30! That's not even half the possible total, either.

I don't know where I'm going with this, but I'm just going to stop here. Keep on rockin' Subeta. ♥

... lol at the "killer in a cheap horror flick" FOR SURE. I had some personal things come up over the last couple of days so I couldn't be on. I had some serious withdrawal. SERIOUS. Is there a rehab program to make the withdrawal not so bad? ^_^

... I complain about the things I love too, doesn't mean I love them any less. It's like a family member. You grumble, but the love is still strong. I'm glad you enjoyed this thread, and that you still feel happy with the site. That makes me super happy to hear. You and Phlizz going on for so long. I can't wait to look back in 10 years and see how much my account has grown! (I'm not a young'in either, so I hear ya there!)

Oh man, I just made 2 more pets last weekend...I don't know if I can keep track of more than 4 or 5. But I will certainly do my best. LOL (Gonna turn my Kumos Graveyard someday! SO AWESOME!!) Well I guess I qualify for old timer status, nearly at my 12 year anniversary.

There are people who play casually, I don't get them, but they exist. There are people who've complained about being bored, I don't get them either. Sure sometimes I fall into a rut doing 'dailies' and such, but there's always something to do.

One of the very best things about this site is that staff are engaged. Most were players before they were staff and I think that makes a big difference. They already cared. They listen to us - they don't always do what we want, and even when I complain about that, I agree that they shouldn't.

I too love the customization options! You really can make this your site.

Finally, Subeta is really what you make of it. You can be a casual player, or very dedicated. You can play games, become a merchant, be a high achiever, really get into HA design, be an artist, a writer or any number of other niches. There's something for everyone and if you get bored with one area, you can switch focus and it becomes almost like a completely new site.
