I come back and all of my pet names and username has been changed!? Excuse me?

: If you haven't logged on for a certain amount of years, your UN and pet names are made available to the public to use again. To make it more fair, or what not, you are allowed to change the names free of charge one time.

I know the rule and I would log in to prevent that. This is super annoying, especially since I've spent actual money on this website. Not cool at all.

Yes but some of that money was spent on pets and a name change, so for it to just be altered without me even getting an email/warning beforehand is messed up. In a way I feel violated, and am now completely over this damn site.

you should of logged in then? its as simple as that, before your account used to be wiped completely so I'd be grateful you even have your items and things? You had a year to log in, so..

It only takes ONE log in a year to prevent your account becoming inactive. I don't really understand how you feel violated. At least accounts are left on site still, so you don't lose anything else. A few years ago, inactive accounts were deleted completely. (you can also replace your taken username and pet names for free)

It's a shame you lost your username/pet names but I can't help wondering why you failed to log in at all to prevent that happening, and then complain about it. shrug

I actually believe you do receive an email when your account is coming up for clearing FYI. It would have been sent to the email you signed up with. If you no longer use/access that email it would explain why you did not receive the notification. If you had indeed logged in within the year, you would have reset the timer on your account.

As said -- They used to completely delete accounts previously.. At least this way, you can come back and all your things are still in one piece. This only affects username and pet names.

Like I said before, I'm aware of the rule! I actually thought it was every 6 mos though not a year so I would make sure. I still have access to the same email associated with this account as its my main email, and I've not found ANY emails regarding inactivity so you'd be wrong there.

What am I to be thankful for? My stuff is not as I left it.

If you knew about the rule, then why complain? What are you expecting people to do? All it takes is a single log-in to totally reset the timer, you don't even need to do anything on the site, as long as it registers you as online then it'll keep all your stuff. Assuming you were aware of the rule - like you say you were - and you were invested enough in the site to be bothered by your name/pet names being changed, then I don't see why a quick log-in was too much to ask.

I've taken breaks from the site, too, but I always make sure to drop in every month or so, just so the site registers that I'm online. It's... Really not difficult.

Besides, you should be able to change your name and any pet names for free, now. Why not take the opportunity to grab a cool name you like the sound of? There are plenty of good ones available, and considering you took such a long break from the site in the first place, a fresh slate might be a good thing.

In terms of being thankful, as both and have pointed out, it used to be that your account would be deleted if you went inactive. Assumedly, you still have all your items, CWs, achievements, money, additional currencies, CSC and so on that you had when you left, right? A few years ago, you'd have had to start an entirely new account.

The name clearing system is fair game, at this point.
