It's late here so this post may be out there, but hear me out. I want an expirement that looks like THIS thing.
[Item=glitterskull plushie]
Like. Woah dude. That thing is cool as shit and I want one. I don't even remember it being released but I want one. Glittering optional. /theend
A sparkly fat happy gecko with gem-eyes and a glimmery gem skull? Sounds like Euclid could've been experimenting with bits and bobs from the Coda Caves.
It's like a questionable cocktail between the mahar, the conjoined lizard experiment and a velosotor. Also, glitter and gems. Lots of glitter and gems. Something that could also work with this concept are opalized fossils!
If it does end up drawn, it wouldn't be animated, sadly. So no actual sparkling. :c Either way, support!
I see a great opportunity to make another GIF pet here, and I love this item <3
Ohh I'd LOVE this, I don't know what I'd do with it but I'd love it to BITS
BIG SUPPORT
A Coda Caves inspiration for this would be great! I think it would be sweet to have it as an actual pet for all the beautiful recolours, but I'm not going to be overly hopeful so an experiment would be fine. I don't see why it couldn't glitter though if it's just an experiment-- as said we do already have one pet with a GIF overlay (the nostalgic keeto).
This would be amazing, definite support!

Ah, I forgot that the nostalgic keeto was animated. Whoops, my mistake! :'D Project animated glitterskull might yet glitter after all! And yeah, having it as an actual pet would be amazing, but we'd probably have the issue of too many reptile species, as we already have with dog-like pets. :c
Though now I'm worried that it might be a bit too similar to other experiments we already have. Namely the 625 and 696. :/
I wonder if there'd be some way of making it more interesting without losing the general concept and feel of it. Make it look like it's "hatching" from a geode, maybe? Or is that too similar to the sandcat? Add extra legs? Maybe have it shedding its gem-encrusted tail? I don't really want to lose the sparkle lizard theme, but I'd like it to be a bit different than the skeletal and lizardy experiments we already have.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it was said that the Nostalgic Keeto will be the only animated pet. :c
HOWEVER, I am on board with this idea! It's adorable!
I personally don't think it would be too similar-- they all have skeletal heads, but the gem/lizard/dinosaur feel to it is very different. Graveyard also has skeletal themes but I think this is set apart in that it's not a straight up bare skeleton-- it looks gem encrusted or something. It also has a different body type and general make.
I also don't think there are too many reptile species-- somewhere down the line we're going to run into that problem with any species unless they decide to stop making pets. Canines also may seem abundant, but that's nowhere near the amount of ungulates in the game. There's about 14, including experiments, and staff doesn't necessarily seem to be limiting that. Counting experiments, there's also a huge amount of dragon based pets (I don't consider them reptiles), felines, bugs, rodents, and amphibious pets. There are about 6 reptile pets (again, excluding dragons but also dinosaurs bc I feel those are different) and the categories I mentioned have substantially more. Looking at ratios seems limiting to me-- perhaps if they were creating a new species or experiment from scratch, but the glitterskull already exists in some capacity.
I personally like it as is, big bobblehead and baby t-rex/alligator feel and all. (': I'd hate to see it changed just to adjust a ratio. I feel it's different enough but that may just be me! All personal opinion, feedback helps the idea! I feel like some more prominent gems/geode patterns would help make it a bit more unique if needed but again, I'm okay with it staying as is. Maybe a little geode cross-section in its belly?
[edit] Thank you, I didn't see that! It'd still be cute even without the animation though. c:
Ah, you're right! But the gems make it a bit similar to the mahar. Then again, the same can be said about the feli and the sandcat. 😜 I'm probably worrying about nothing, as I tend to do. At least it helps to bounce ideas!
A geode cross-section in its belly is a cool idea! That, the glittery skull* and a few crystals sticking out of its tail would make it stand out among Subeta's reptile pet crowd. I'm torn between the geode idea and opalized wood. Opalized wood makes for some amazing patterns (example), but I think the geode might have it beat, because it fits much better thematically.
*Glitter sold separately at Thimble & Co Real talk, we need glitter vials and loose sequins at Thimble & Co, but that's a whole other topic for another time.
