The new page feels way more cluttered than the old one, which makes it hard to find things quickly and easily. Even though I know all the sCode already and was just scrolling through, it is still hard to read. For users who are unfamiliar this might be a bit daunting. (Although I am happy about the additions to the codes listed, the text size one in particular.)
Since I know the sCode, why was I there? For the emoji cheatsheet link, which has been replaced with an unhelpful chart of emojis. Do we still use the code with the colons? Or does the "u+code" that is listed on that chart work for the site? Am I supposed to copy and paste the emojis? If we still use the colons how am I supposed to know what that code is? I understand that emojis work differently on other devices, but since I only use pc there is no other way for me to post them.
😭 😩 💔 <--- clearly the :colon: code works, and luckily I do remember some of them.
That is just one person's opinion on the new page though, what does everyone else think? Am I the only one who ever used that emoji page??
, you lovely people like posting on the forums what do you think?
TL;DR New Page feels more cluttered ?? & Please re-add the :emoji: code list link
xe/they/she
i won't argue about the new emoji page being harder to use (took me a long moment to get from the u+ code to the &# code) but the old page url=https://www.webpagefx.com/tools/emoji-cheat-sheet/[/url] didn't have a 🤔 emoji so. i don't mind the new page too much 🤔
as for the actual scode page -- from what i can tell, it's mostly the same as the old one, just formatted differently? it's more spread out than the old one was, so it seems longer. idk, i think it just needs some getting used to.
I totally agree with you!! The new page does feel more cluttered and confusing!! And I don't understand the emoji cheatsheet link, so now I can't do all the different emojis any more :( :( :( :(
=^^=
Have to admit I'm totally confused by the new emoji page, but actually really like the new sCode page. I have always been confused about the old page, but as someone who is totally Code challenged, I find the new one easier to figure out.

What was the question?
THANK YOU! I figured the old page still existed and someone would post the link eventually. I'll bookmark it now, though it should still be added back to the sCode page. Also, whatever emoji you used in that post is just a broken-emoji rectangle for me, and it's the first time I've ever seen one while on the forums. 😣
It's true I'll probably get used to it, but going there for the first time I was absolutely shell-shocked. Which definitely isn't good for a user going there for code for the first time. Or maybe it would be fine for them because it's the only page they've seen? Hmm, an interesting thought. (A thinking emoji would be really good here. I've wanted a shrug emoji for a while too.)
I like the new page a lot better than the old one (so much more info! better headers! better explanations! yay!), but I agree that I miss the old emoji link. The current page linked is really unhelpful and confusing. I don't know how to use those codes. At all. O_O And searching through them just now was horrid.
At first glance the sCode page does seem very long and cluttered. But, when actually slowing down and looking at it more closely, I do like it. Its easier to understand than the old page. I like the section breakdown. I especially like the little bits of added information (like the avatar=user code shows the CURRENT HA).
Finally, I do not like the new emoji code link. That page takes forever to load and it is extremely confusing. I have the old page bookmarked, and I'm happy I did that! I would suggest two links - one to the complete list (the new page), but also add the old link with the cheat code page that's easier to handle and much, much faster loading.

that one was U+1F914, thinking face. this one's a shrug 🤷 / 🤷 (U+1F937, person shrugging) -- is it broken for you too? i wonder if it's a browser thing s:
and yeah, the new scode page was a big change! it looks completely different, esp since they've moved to a new style of table. but generally speaking, i think it's better, esp since bug separated out the actual scode (previews, event codes, etc) and put in a navigation.
I like the new Scode page, but that emoji page is a disaster.
I absolutely love the new sCode reference page. There's more information that's incredibly handy to have. Little notes for clarification on confusing points. Overall, it's fabulous! Perhaps it would be better with some bolder horizontal lines breaking up the rows within each section. Or maybe better, just center each cell with vertical alignment (so rather than each item in the right side being on top of the cell, and potentially confusingly aligned, it'll be directly to the right of the center bulk of the left column. tl:dr; it'll look better.)
The emoji cheatsheet though... That's a piece of shit! I'm happy someone gave the link to the old one, because let's be honest, there are a ton of emoji's available. The previous iteration allowed you to scroll through all in a minute or two. The new one... I gave up getting to the bottom.
Yep, both of those are broken for me. I'm using chrome. It might be an operating system thing possibly?
Some bolder lines or centering would defintely fix the problem I think. Really that's all it is for me; it just isn't as streamlined as everything else on the site. Maybe just an extra line break between the headers and the code even. Just to separate them a bit more and make them stand out.
So far most people like the new page, I'm only a little surprised.
Most importantly though, I'm glad everyone agrees that the new emoji page is 💩
i guess so? according to "can i emoji?," chrome only got on the emoji train within the last two years, and only on newer operating systems. lame p;
and yeah, i won't argue about the emoji page. i get it -- it's The Official Emoji Page, by The Emoji People, so it's the most complete/up-to-date, but it's so long and unwieldy lmao
I like the new sCode page as well, I think it's better organized and has some other codes that the old page didn't have. It feels more complete and useful than the previous version did.
I agree the emoji page isn't very great, but that isn't really Subeta's fault or something that they have control over.
My initial reaction to the new page is along the lines of "aaaagh! So cluttered!" But taking a moment to get over that it's different allows me to take a step back and decide I actually like it. Feels better organized and sort of streamlined to me. Also it has more info.
Bummer about the emojis, though I do believe you CAN copy paste them, since I have done that under the old page. I can't try now because I'm on mobile at the moment.

copied the image: ? ?
just copied the u code thing: U+1F1E8 U+1F1E6 ??
Any idea what one is supposed to do with the u code - does it go in brackets or something?
copied the image again: ♻
Put the CLDR Short Name between colons: :male sign:
[edit] Not sure what the rest of you see, but for the most part I just see question marks (I'm on pc, windows 10 with the latest firefox). I can see the recycle symbol in black.

Thanks for the link - I'll update it to that one when I get a chance! I was confused because the old page said http://www.emoji-cheat-sheet.com/ which actually showed up broken for me at first (rather than a redirect) - so I assumed it was an old broken link and changed it to the official emoji website LOL. I definitely agree that one's a lot easier as a reference!
[edit] I'll also think about updating that text to be clearer how to actually TYPE the emojis. What it actually is, is that you can type the words between colons (like the emoji cheat-sheet has) and it'll automatically show up. Rather than needing to copypaste anything. I'll see about making that clearer for next week :D
