I know the event starts around this time of year and runs normally for two weeks. Buuuuuuuuuttttt we have one week left in march and the ball normally ends on the first of April. Anyone have any idea whats going on?

It's started this late before, and sometimes it ends a few days into April instead of on the first. There aren't really set dates for when most of the events start or end, so the schedules can be a bit more flexible for staff to finish up the items and art and whatever they need for the event.

A lot of people feel like it will probably start today though, so we'll have to wait and see.

As far as I remember a list that I saw a while back Masquerade started on the 23rd a couple of times already so it's not unsual or generally too late. Most events seem to start on Friday's as well so today we should have a good chance imo. :3

Looking back through past ending dates for Masquerade, it's only finished on 31st of March once (2015). All the others have run several days into April. Last year it finished on the 9th.

Wasn't Vesnali pushed back last year because of this issue? End of April or something like that?

Yeah, Vesnali was changed starting last year, but I don't think it was because of Easter. Staff have said that Vesnali is supposed to be more of a general spring holiday anyway, since they're moving away from real world stuff to make Subeta lore more of its own thing (although of course there are still some real world inspirations).

[edit]Looks like last year Masquerade was extended due to site issues during the event, so that's why Vesnali was originally pushed back. But I know there was talk of keeping the event spacing like that permanently, so I guess they decided to stick with it since the holiday schedule in the Subetapedia has been changed to reflect the new approximate start times.

It's typical for Wardrobe to have delays and lag on Masquerade start. Whether or not it starts immediately right now or OMG it's late, it's worth your while and will be more convenient for you if you don a Mask so you are ready. If your current HA isn't Mask friendly, use one of the domino masks behind your Base or wear a backdrop and shove it below that layer.
