I heard running or working out can help distress. You don't have to go to the gym either to work out -i'm using videos from Youtube and bottles filled with water instead of weights. My partner drinks a lot of Pepsi so i have no shortage of such bottles. [but i only need 2 since i can't really move my legs and arms at the same time, as to use 4 bottles, LOL] we have bottles of 2 liters, and now they're half full, but in time i hope to fill them completely - so the weights can be adjusted.

Cleaning the house can be used instead of running and working out. This works well for me when i feel too stressed.

speaking of youtube, watching funny clips could help. The ones that make me laugh the most are the ones with funny animals - i hate pranks. If you like comedians, jokes could be a better fit for you. laughing is a really good way to get rid of stress. [or crying, but i don't recommend crying... though im sure you can find sad videos too]

Sleeping more could also help. Being physically tired can really be stressful for your mind/brain.

some people find relief in eating, but i also discourage you from eating. [trust me: gaining weight is not fun at all. I've been there and now i'm trying hard to lose that extra weight]

Well, i hope I gave you some ideas you could use - as i know that what works for me might not work for others and vice-versa.

I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.

Oh Dearlings, one of our own could use some help!

Hey Zakery! Sorry to hear you're feeling stressed! I definitely second Innamoramento's suggestion of Working out and Cleaning.

I also like to throw on Music and dance around and sing in the privacy of my room when I feel stressed.

Meditation or Yoga may also be really relaxing for you, or perhaps Tai Chi. I loved TaiChi when I took it in school, it helped me shape up a bit and it felt low impact and relaxing.

Remember to look out for other aspects of your health as they can be big parts of your stress. Make sure you're sleeping enough, drinking plenty of water, and not over-exerting yourself too often.

Consider going out in nature, and just finding something there to focus on. Watch the birds, look at clouds, write in a journal, listen to music, sit by a stream. Get yourself away from the usual.

I know you're also quite religious, so if you attend services, I recommend turning to your fellowship and leaders for resources, support, and advice. They can often help you find words to call on in times you feel stressed to empower you emotionally.

I hope I'm of some help, and I hope you feel better soon! I know I can speak for all of us, The Dearlings are here for you!

Feeling Down? Need a Friend? Message Me! I am a Safe-Space. I will not judge, I will be patient, & you can tell me anything. I can offer advice, or I can just be there. It's your call. But please, Make the Call. I'm always willing to be there for you. Love, Chiibi Dearling

I love that crow! I am sorry that you are feeling stressed. Chiibi's suggestions are wonderful and I hope that they will help you get to feeling better. This may sound silly, but when I feel really down, I like to watch funny movies, especially the older ones, such as "Some Like It Hot" (with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe) and "Duck Soup" with the Marx Brothers. A good laugh sometimes is the best medicine. God Bless you.

hugs I am sorry about the stress you are under! IDK if it is for you or someone else but destressing is a unique thing. Some things work for one while being totally unhelpful for another. I also second all of Chiibi's suggestions and ideas. <3

Here are some ways I de-stress: ❤️ Play on subeta (entails questing, chatting with friends, looking through WL's/gifting users and creating HA's). ❤️ Write poetry, short stories, or journal in general. ❤️ Sing songs, play my flute or listen to music. ❤️ Meditate (only guided deep breathing meditation has proven slightly helpful for me) Mostly is is the deep breathing that helps. ❤️ Clean things or organize things or throw things away/declutter. ❤️ Organize life events and such in an effort to declutter intangible things. ❤️ Pull weeds, dig in dirt, or garden. ❤️ Pet my dog, look at my dog, or in anyway interact with him. ❤️ Look up pretty things on a google img search (like jellyfish, specific colors, puppies, red pandas, anything that seems cute or relaxing in the moment). ❤️ Daydream or imagine a different reality. ❤️ Go for a walk or hike. ❤️ Bake or cook. ❤️ Take pictures of anything. ❤️ Talk with a friend or family member, RL talking not online chatter or texting. ❤️ Plan a vacation (even if you don't go on it. Studies have shown that people find more joy in planning a vacation than actually taking one or being on one). ❤️ Have a staycation day or hour (or even a few min) at home away from troubles -- even if you have to hide in a close for a few min to get a rest! ❤️ Do some self-pampering type of activity like reading for pleasure, napping, relaxing, or doing anything that makes you stop and relax without thinking about how quickly you need to get it done with. Living in the moment of pleasurable relaxation s the key to this one. I often do this right after I wake up in the morning. I tell myself I can take 1 or even a few min to just lay there and enjoy the warm comfort of my bed while not thinking about doing anything at all in that day. ❤️ Also, something Chiibi touched on is religious things, like praying. But the thing I will add is maybe talking to your spiritual adviser, whomever he or she may be. Perhaps setting up a private meeting where you can just talk might help. it's totally different from therapy because they aim to help your peace with God not just your mind. ❤️ Smelling good smells like vanilla, fresh baked bread, cinnamon, or anything you find comforting is pleasing. ❤️ Tensing all of your muscles very tightly in groups, starting from your toes and going up your entire body to your face, and then releasing them all.

A lot of my suggestions come with the idea that you will take a moment to breathe in that very moment without thinking of other moments ahead or behind.

I find hiking to be one of the best ways to relax and clear my mind! You're getting fresh air, sunshine and exercise plus just being out in nature can be extremely healing when you're stressed out. I always hike with at least one dog too, being around animals and petting them can lower stress levels. My dogs can always tell if I'm upset and are always a comfort, they don't judge and they love unconditionally.

Other things I like to do to battle stress are listen to music and draw, sketching out my emotions can be especially therapeutic. I hope one of these suggestions helps and that you feel better soon! ❤️

Hey there! I can relate!

My main desstressor is walking. Sitting and taking deep breaths and listening to the birds. Getting enough sleep. Drinking water, or a favorite tea. ( I love peace tea for a splurge). Making a little time to create or write randomly whatever comes to mind. Listening to calm music.

Oh My. Destressers. I have quite a few things I like to do.

Sometimes I go for walks, other times I go shopping. Also I am a big baker. I love cooking. It helps me think about things other than the issues I'm having. Anything that helps you be distracted...is great. Gaming is another of my huge destressers. On days I just feel like staying in bed, I'd cuddle up in my blankets & just watch a comedy or something that keeps me busy. You just need to find those few things that keep you relaxed.

I hope whatever you are going through becomes less stressful for you.

I agree with everyone's suggestions and ideas for de-stressing! I do at least a little bit of almost everything that's been mentioned.

Whenever I feel stressed out, I like to give myself some "me time"--time in which I focus on taking care of myself. Like many people, I love to look out for my family and friends, but I've come to realize that as much as I want to take care of others, I also need to make sure to reserve time for taking care of myself. So whenever I need some "me time," I tend to be low-key about things. For instance, I won't force myself to go out to big social gatherings, or I'll only spend time with one or two close friends as opposed to several friends. Or other times, I'll just keep to myself to avoid feeling pressured about entertaining anyone else around me (which happens a lot for me). And then I'll just do whatever I enjoy doing: watching movies, playing video games, playing Subeta, listening to music, cooking, etc. Do whatever you enjoy at your own pace. ❤

. I dont know if it works for you but coloring in an adult coloring book relaxes me very much. Its simple but gets your mind focused on what you are doing and less on problems.

Stress is hard but usually temporary. Look for the tiny moments of calm in a day and relish them. Perhaps bedtime at night or sipping coffee. If you cant find those moments then create one. Having just a few minutes to relax and be in the moment can keep you going. Based on that theres a variant of meditation called mindfulness. You can google it. But it really helps me a lot.
