So right, I know you can choose to adopt a Yaherra (or Qrykee) from Euclid but if you're trying to zap a pre-existing pet into one, would you set it to "experiment pets only" or no?

I don't think so, because they're not really experiment pets anymore.

But with the adopt option, you can just pay the same amount to morph an existing pet into one (not just creating a new pet). So if that's what you want to do, that would probably be the better option than just regular zapping until you manage to zap your pet into one.
