„I assume you´re here for a new avatar contest. Yes, we ancient Romans are great when it comes to games. Let me tell you something about Roman festivals and contests and then I´ll show you around!“ she declared and invites you into the cool shadows of the patio.
March is here! 🌷 The name of March comes from Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar. It was named after Mars, the Roman god of war, who was also regarded as a guardian of agriculture and an ancestor of the Roman people through his sons Romulus and Remus. His month Martius was the beginning of the season for farming 🌾 and a lot of festivals called Ludi 🎺 were held during the month.
Some of the festivals 🎪 which were celebrated in March:
Matronalia - March 1. 💐 A festival held at Rome in honor of Mars. Only married women could attend the celebrations, during which they made offerings of flowers in the temples of Juno.
Equirria - March 14. 🐎 Two ancient Roman festivals of chariot racing.
Anna Perenna - March 15. 🌽 Anna Perenna was an old Roman deity of the circle of the year and the feast was held at the grove of the goddess at the first milestone on the Via Flaminia. Roman families traditionally picknicked along the banks of the Tiber and offerings were made to the goddess to achieve happiness.
Quinquatrus - March 19-21. 🎭 A festival sacred to the deity Minerva. Women were accustomed to consult fortune-tellers and diviners upon this day. They were games like poet contests and plays and the Spring Equinox was celebrated.
Festival of Luna - March 31. 🌕 The deity Luna is associated with moon magic, transformations, the psychic, and the feminine. She is a symbol of the heavenly embodiment of the moon. The festival took place on the Aventine Hill.
"Vestimentum facit populus!“ Cordula´s sister Corina, who works in one of the temples, added. She isn´t very fluent in modern languages. "Accidit in puncto, quod non speratur in anno. Ave atque vale! Carpe diem!“ she encourages.

My entries... I will add more, going to try to add them as the holidays come up.
Matronalia
Outfit Not Found This is Prima Caecilia, wife of Titus Marius Pinna. She was married five years ago, but they have not yet conceived a child. Her husband is ill, so she has been praying to Juno to preserve his health and make her fertile.
Her father is wealthy and she is his only daughter, so if her husband should die, she will probably marry again. But she cares for him and hopes he will live. She has just finished laying handfuls of irises and lilies on the altar to Juno Lucina.
The dress of the married Roman woman consists of a tunica, over that a stola, and over that a palla. The stola was worn only by married women. Caecilia has on a tan tunica, with a black stola over it and a brown palla. She untied her palla because it is said that women must untie knots in their clothing when giving offerings to Juno Lucina, so it is hanging looser than it is typically worn.
Equirria
Outfit Not Found This is Quintus Junius Silanus whose mother was the granddaughter of the previous emperor. He enjoyed watching the chariot races in celebration of Equirria, and is a little drunk from moderately watered wine.
Due to his royal bloodline, he is permitted to wear clothing dyed with purple. He rarely does so, except on feast or celebration days.
Anna Perenna
Private Outfit This is Scamander, a slave belonging to Marcus Annius Verus. His usual task is as tutor to his owner's two young sons, Marcus Annius Minor and Lucius Annius. Since today is the feast of Anna Perenna, the Annius family is having a picnic.
Scamander is left to scavenge from the leavings of the feasting citizen families and, having found more than enough food for himself, he's feeding some of it to his pet rat, Zeus.

This is Cassia Sybillina, an acolyte of one of the most revered Sibyllas of the city. During the Quinquatrus festival, many seek her mistress's wisdom. She advises them as they wait, on how to best phrase their questions to get the most of the brief audience each will receive.
As the festival draws to a close, Cassia takes a short break and goes for a walk along the portico of the temple courtyard garden.
Festival of Luna

The Sabines were an Italic tribe from the Apennine mountains who brought the worship of Luna to Rome.
This Sabine, a devout worshiper of Luna, waits with a temple cat for the sun to go down, when the celebration of Noctiluna - Luna the night-shining one - will commence. Wearing a decorative moon hairpin, and with the moon rising from the waters as the sun continues to shine, the Sabine deems this a good omen. Also the cat is another good omen, as the Sabine is fond of cats.
Called Quiris (a Sabine word meaning "spear"), the Sabine remains mysterious to most of the Romans. In fact even Quiris's neighbors do not know why the tribal Sabine is living among them or why Quiris is so readily welcomed by certain priests. The reason is that those priests consider Quiris a holy person due to exhibiting intersex traits - they believe Quiris can be male or female at different times.
Matronalia
Aurora, named after the Goddess of the Morning, stays true to her name. Each morning she brings flowers to the townspeople and delivers prayers to Juno for those who cannot make the trek to the temple. Her kind spirit and loving nature caught the eye of her (now) husband, who aids in her daily journey. Outfit Not Found
Equirria
Victoria spends her days caring for and raising the horses to be used as chariot-racing steeds. Outfit Not Found
