I've just now gotten into the coliseum but I don't understand the experience. For example, the ant says it'll give me 65, but the most I ever got out of it was 45, and recently /all/ of the creatures I can fight without my pet's inevitable death (only the easy creatures) are only giving me 10? Why is it suddenly reduced so much? If that's how it's going to give me experience, I don't have time for it. I can't invest hours upon hours in the coliseum just to go up from tier 1 to tier 2, much less getting to a point where I can actually battle any event monsters that crop up.

A note: yes I do know about the Training Center, but that does 1 or two points at a time on 1 skill. I don't want to have to wait three+ years just to be tier 5 through that means either.

experience rewards drop gradually until 10 or so wins against a given enemy, after which they drop significantly and it becomes not particularly worth it to continue fighting that enemy (i usually go for 20 wins, then move on to someone else).

if you want to raise your pet's stats, you're definitely going to want to use the training center; you get the most efficiency out of it early on anyway. also try to do as many battle quests as you can each day, then pump the earned exp into more stats. i don't remember how long it took frosix to reach T5 but i don't think it was more than a year, and that was mainly just using the training center.

now that his training takes longer and stat exp costs are higher, i tend to train all stats except level in the training center, then when i need to raise level, i use exp (because level has the lowest exp cost, but takes the same sP and time in the training center), then go back to the training center and continue training everything else.

you'll also get stat boosters for defeating low-level enemies, which you can use on your lower tier pet to get a few extra stats here and there. along with spending exp, which you'll want to take advantage of early on when you get the most bang for your buck so to speak, it's really not so bad. training is a long game but if you use all the methods available (especially the training center, which is absolutely the main way you are going to raise your pet's stats, especially in the beginning), it goes pretty smoothly. even if you're not spending all your time grinding away at battling and battle quests and stat boosters and whatnot, you'll see definite progress within a few months - the first few tiers fly by the fastest.

Omigosh. I completely forgot about the battle quests. I'll give that a try when I get a chance.

I have a few tips for you!

  1. Train at the training center as much as you can. NEVER train level until you have to - it only affects your training times/prices. You seem to have overtrained level a bit. Best to keep your stats (besides level) even at this point too! It's cheaper that way.

  2. EXP gains go up, not down ( - this was changed with the last BC update c: ) from wins 1-10. You should get the 'predicted' EXP at win 10. After you've beaten an opponent 10x, you will receive a flat EXP gain of 10 for easy challengers, 20 for medium challengers, etc. Best to just go to 10 wins unless you really feel like grinding. There are some additional prizes after win 10 (see here) but they're probably not worth it to you yet.

!!! 3. Do your battle quests every single day! Even if you can't beat many, that's how you'll make the most EXP. Keep it up and soon you'll be able to defeat tougher challengers.

  1. Use those booster eggs you get at win 5 from some opponents to train your pet! Save any other boosters until you're at a higher level though. They're expensive.

I probably reiterated a lot of what Frenchi said. x) Ah well. Best of luck battling!

on Subeta's tenth anniversary I adopted a buncha new pets I already had slots for but didn't get around to it. I was still using boosters that Shinwa dropped on me and Battle Quests for my much stronger pets and not the newbies.

I found it possible without using any Battle Quests to get to tier 6 in one year, and low tier 7 if you use your bathhouse CSC for autotraining.

There are also additional ways to get stats, they only give out a few points here and there, but it does add up.

  1. Scratchcards - when you get a stat gain it goes to your "active pet"
  2. Jobs - get your pet a job, any job. When you collect pay there's a small chance of a stat gain.
  3. Oracle quests - I think the stat gains go to your active pet. Unfortunately you can only do Oracle quest by random event, but do them when you can. If you tend to miss them, there's a widget your can add to your dashboard that will activate when she shows up.
  4. Random event - there's a random event that gives stat boosts, but it will give it out randomly to any pet.
