I have a friend that just rejoined Subeta. I wanna send her some SP and some items but I haven't been on here for a year or two myself and never needed to use the trade features. Is there a gifting option? Where can I initiate a trade with a specific user?

There is a gift center in the Arctic Frost that you can use to send items if you want (link). Or you could just send them directly from your inventory to a specific user with the "send to buddy" option.

If you want to gift them sP, you could have them set up a junk trade for you to offer on. You can't direct a trade at a specific user, but you can search the trade lots by username to find the trades that a specific person has put up and offer from there.

I see. Does anyone know if a direct trade option might be something they could add in the future? It seems much more user friendly than making junk trades that anyone can access.

I don't know how complicated something like that would be to add. But if you're worried about other people seeing it, you can also now mark trades as Reserved so they won't show up in the new trades list (only if someone happens to search your username or the specific trade lot number).

I think most people don't really go around offering on random trades anyway unless they're looking to buy something and offering what the seller/trader has asked for in the description.

There's also the sP Vouchers that you could use to convert some sP into voucher items which could be sent to your friend. I forgot about it at first because it's not really linked anywhere now that I know of, but the page still exists.

No problem! The vouchers only exist for round numbers, so amounts like 500 or 1000 or 10,000 for example will work. And then once your friend has them, they can click on the item in your inventory and click the "use item" option to receive the sP.

Looks like there is a daily limit of 50k though. Is there any way to up that limit? I'm trying to send her 1mil since everything here is pretty expensive for the good stuff. XD

Hmm, I don't think there is right now. The system is probably not used very much because I think most people forget that it exists.

when the new map of Subeta was implemented there was much side discussion about omitted locations like NPC Elwood's Oracle Token Shop, the Gym Vending Machine (which got retired) and the sP Voucher Exchange. We were told that maybe just maybe the Exchange would be updated to increase the daily amount, but this was never implemented. The Oracle Token Shop got cancelled a few years later, so now poor Elwood is selling pizza.

You could make a Suggestion in Suggestions & Ideas, that since the map was changed the average user had 8MsP and now has 22MsP that maybe that they should reconsider the daily limit? But really as has said doing a Reserved Trade is so much easier.
