so my electric gets shut off on the 27 (I don't get any funds till the 2nd) so Im trying to put together some stuff to get me and the other person through till the bill can be paid. I have no transportation so I can't go to the store plus I have no funds right now.. No electric means no heat,no air and no water.
Basically we have canned corn canned green beans canned applesauce 2 flashlights(there charged by electric though) a few candles(im hoping I won't have to use them my cat has a bad habit of standing by them when there lit..im always afraid of the candle getting knocked over or the cats tail catching fire which is why ive not lit a candles in years) paper towels
As far as drinks go we got nothing..
We have had a small snow..but it thawed..hoping we don't get any more freezing cold weather..
Im trying to earn some gift cards(from watching videos, doing surveys,ect..) so I can have some stuff shipped to me but shipping is like $5.99 so Im going to have to earn a LOT of points.. in short amount of time. Luckily the gift cards can be used on shipping..
Im just not sure what items to buy..Im not used to looking for shelf stable items..Can't be anything that needs refrigerated after opening. Single serve items would be best.. but what on earth would I look for?
I can't have anything with cranberries ,high sodium content, high acid content
the other person can't have Well this is a tough one.. they choke on there food. (they got something wrong with there throat) so im not even sure what to fix them anymore. I know they can't have high acid content. Sticky things such as peanut butter probably would not be a good idea..im afraid it would lodge in there throat.

Since the weather seems to be quite cold, you might not need a fridge - you can just put the items outside on the window and they should keep fine (i did this when i was waiting for a fridge to arrive)
Low sodium canned meat (usually single serve) Small crackers Canned soup (some are good cold or lukewarm) Canned fruits in water or syrup Freeze dry fruits or fruit jellies Beef/chicken jerky Bottle of waters, juice Self-preserve milk carton/almond milk etc
I seen some squeezable shelf stable yogurt.. also seen fruit and veggies some kind of drink in squeeze pouch which is shelf stable..(no clue what it taste like though)
trying to stay away from(or limit) things that would cause thirst. such as salty and or sugary foods.
Any one know of any thing for calcium deficiency?
So far I only have enough in gift cards to cover shipping.. So im going to be up earning all night.

If you can afford some protein drinks like Ensure and such. These aren't the best but they are meal replacement. I've eaten squeezable pouches and it's good. If you don't finish it, you need to refregirate but the portion is small. A lot of meals in a can are thirst inducing with the preservative agents and sodium but most meat in a can are like this.
ensure is good but out of my budget (there like 8.95) right now. Im still trying to get gift cards.
Since walmart has 2 day shipping im planning on using there online store.

Stock up on food that are high-protein at most. Dry granola can also do the trick as well. You can also stock up on small packets of ketchup and mayo (the small pouches usually given by restaurant). They are handy and you can make a quick tuna sandwich with it (or any other canned meat). Paté in a can is also good and easy to spread on a slice of bread.
under a tornado and flood watch.. Half my yard looks like a pond.
I don't have a vehicle like I said so I can't go anywhere. So free packets of ketchup, mayo, ect, is out. I have no bread and they don't ship bread except bread in a can.
Im still trying to earn gift cards. So far I got enough for shipping and enough for less than $7.00 worth of stuff after tax.. a lot of the surveys where a joke. I got 1 point(1 point = a penny) or no points do to errors or "oh you don't qualify for this survey" If I didn't qualify then don't give it to me and wait till im half done with it to tell me I don't qualify..
Well anyway so far looks like squeezable yogurt and some juice boxes.. Unless I can get some more gift cards..
for future emergencies such as storms im going to try and save up for a bag (like a sturdy backpack with lots of room to put things in) Leak proof water containers(like water bottles) emergency food(which I know I will have to keep eye on expiration dates over time and use before they expire) and anything else I think of.
UPDATE on feb 26th Ive ordered 2 packs of water 1 pack squeezable yogurt (there is 4 in the pack)
Hope it gets here in time since it says 2 day shipping..
