There was a gun threat at the school district my son goes to today. The story is: the kid was suspended last week and was allowed to come back today. He said he was going to shoot up the school and it'd be a "blood bath".

I'm curious of a few things...

  1. WHY WERE PARENTS NOT INFORMED OF THIS??
  2. Why was this kid allowed back?
  3. Why is nothing being done about this?

The district is keeping it hush hush, and nobody knows why.

I'm keeping my son home. Not risking anything.

Wow. A week suspension that's it? Where I'm from if a kid goes to school with a fire arm and makes a threat, not only do they get expelled, but they also do jail time. This stuff is getting out of hand...we have a huge people issue. People are not teaching their kids better, raising them right...I don't know, it's many elements involved in this topic I feel like the problem itself isn't a simple fix. Unfortunately.

Hopefully your child's school board actually steps up and approaches this appropriately. If the child that made the gun threat is allowed to further attend... I may seriously consider switching my child's school. Or at least look and see if that was within the realm of possibility. That's just me though.
