For the last six months or so I have been finding an increasing number of new clothing items to be inky indistinguishable blobs. The most recent background in the Blue Building is a prime example of this. I've got my monitor on brightest and yet it looks almost entirely black. The item image itself (as opposed to what it looks like in Wardrobe) is fine.

When I expand this item out 250 percent or so, detail starts to show. Maybe artists are working on a really large size and it doesn't translate properly once it shrinks?

It's fine on my screen? Mind you, that might be because I have my brightness up as high as it'll go. It could be something as simple as that...

Have you checked your monitor? I recently recalibrated mine and images that used to be dark blobs for me too, suddenly have much more detail. I actually had to reduce the brightness and contrast.

While I was doing that I also noticed that my monitor shows images much darker near the top of my screen than the bottom.

I haven't really noticed this? Even with software that darkens my screen so that I can sleep more easily, I can see the details on the Fallen Star Souvenir pretty well.

Can you give any more examples of really dark, blobby wearables that have been released in the past 6 months?

I have my monitor set always to just 50% brightness and haven't noticed any of you said, latest souvenir BG shows up with nice details and different colors.

I keep my setup at about 50% brightness, as well, and don't have this problem. I didn't even have issues on the ancient and dramatically dying laptop I was using until just a couple of months ago. If you have your contrast too high, that can cause darks to be too dark. I agree that a recalibration may help.

Hooray, calibration is what worked, I had no idea you could do this!
