Hello! I always come to you peeps on subeta for advise and help. You help me out so much.

So I got fired today after a month. My big boss told me t hat I had 6 complaints about me, but he never told me....about any of them until the day i got fired. It came out of the blue. I I’ve had friends tell me ‘maybe it was anothing reason that they couldn’t say.

Well, I’m starting to think its me as a person. I know i have a RBF (resting bitch facde). People who know me (im super introverted) love me, say im a nice and loving person who is thoughtful of everyone. Well. On my LAST job.....most my coworkers hated me. I was even told on my evaluation i needed to stop sounding so mean (excuse my monotoned voice) to smile more and to stop putting my hand on my hip. They didnt like my natural sarctic tone and said i sounded condensinding. Excuse me? I just cant stop. Its the way I am.

Apparently i either dont fit in with socitey, can’t undestand social cues. Or i just have really bad luck. I’m a VERY happy person, but my external doesnt show it. Should i see a therapist or something?

Because i am not getting feed back from people at all. I want to improve myself, but people are either like ‘I don’t like that Mausi person’ and my friends are like ‘why?’ And they never give a real reason....

I just want to fit in. Live my life, and get along with people...but apparently i stand out like a sore thumb.

I know i shouldnt be that phased. But it has my depression coming in like a wrekcing ball. Telling me im worthless...almost having me thinking heavy sucidal thoughts. Not that i would, but....my mind keeps going back.

Rant over. Thanks for listening

Well what was the job? Maybe it just wasn't the best job for you?

I myself quit Wal-Mart nearly a month ago and still haven't had much luck. I'm also stalling now because I think I could be pregnant, but that's another matter.

Anyhow I got a mix of complaints and compliments from customers and not once was it ever ignored if a complaint was made. Usually a person in management would ask about the situation that happened and get both sides before just assuming the customer was right. I live in an area where we get snow, like every year. It's not a matter of if we get it but when. Well we stock the usual stuff in advance and if people are smart they grab the supplies we need. When that first snow actually sticks then we get the panicked people over buying and then that leads to out of stock. This is where the problem comes in. We are out of ice melt, only kid size shovels in stock and down to less than 5 snow throwrrs. At this point I work in online sales and had someone call trying to buy supplies over the phone. I told them its not possible, to buy online but that right then it may not be able to fully complete due to outs. They wanted a manager because apparently it was my personal fault we had other people buying the things this person wanted. I can say I'm glad I'm out of that hell hole. They make you apologize for everything, and well frankly I don't play kiss ass if someone was stupid.

What other jobs have you had? Were they better for you?

IMO that's so cute that they say you put your hands on your hips too much. XD I smiled instantly.

Otherwise, I wouldnt worry about it. You sound sassy to me and I think thats a lovable quality. You may have just encountered power hungry people who were mad that they didnt feel like they could be friends with you the way they wanted to be. :P

I got fired in 3 places after 1 month! haha but it's ok because i didn't like working there anyways. the jobs were in retail [clothes shops] .... and i forgot what they told me when they fired me. Oh, im also an introvert, but i don't have the resting bitch face.. i just seem sad? upset? i dont know/care. I also miss on social cues at times. LE SIGH

i managed to work for 3 months as a cashier [and even liked it ... seemed rather easy, except for the end of the shift duties]. I quit because the hours were impossible. :( [many other people working there before said the same]

I also worked as a manager's assistant. it was an OK position, ok co-workers, but the routine was nearly killing me. Now im working from home [freelancer] and though the income is much lower, im much more happy and i can come up with several ways of bringing home the bacon. ;) [i actually always wanted to be a freelancer - well i actually am one for 7.5 years now].

Try not to take their words and attitude too seriously- i know it's difficult now. cry a bit, break a plate or two, let it out, and then when you calm down you'll probably be able to think more clearly and see things in a different light.

i can't say i know ow you feel, because even if i've been there, you and me have different situations. feel free to talk to me about your feelings if you need to talk. [and sorry for the late reply]

The only job I've lost that quickly was because they over-hired for new store set-up, but I've certainly gotten comments about me needing to smile more before. Of course, I've also run all over the store helping a customer find what she needed to decorate her daughter's dorm room and naturally she gave me a glowing review. I get mixed feedback.

I think the best advice I can give you is do your best. Corny, right? What I mean is do your job fully and properly, and hopefully in time you'll find a management team that appreciates that instead of just focusing on your social skills (or how your face looks in a neutral state).

Perhaps some of your IRL friends can give you some feedback on how you carry yourself and react in real life, if you're interested in working on that? Your manager definitely did you wrong by not telling you about the first complaint when it happened so you could have the opportunity to do better or explain your side. In that regard, they didn't even give you a chance which is a little ridiculous considering you were in the new/learning phase anyway. Hopefully your next employer is more reasonable.
