Today is Women´s Carnival Day in Germany!
However, in Germany, a carnival is a little bit different from a normal fair. We have long processions of fools and jesters, bandwagons, masqueraded people, Funkenmariechen and the wagon with king, maiden and peasant. They so called big three or triumvirate are the most important persons during carnival. Carnival starts on the 11th of November with preparations, has its peak today and Carnival Saturday and Rose Monday and dies again at Ash Wednesday. The traditional stronghold of this tradition is the middle of Germany where I live and there is no escape, LOL.
Good thing is, during carnival, you can go to work or school disguised as something you like! A little bit like Halloween yet not that spooky.
So today I want to see you dress up into something glamorous or hilarious or natural or fantastical or whatever! :-) Show us your wild lion, your princess or clown or do you ever wanted to be a knight or Arielle? Whatever is imaginable! Have fun!
You are allowed to use all kind of clothing, you don´t have to own it. The contest ends Rose Monday afternoon (Subeta time) when carnival processions come to an end here.

EXAMPLE: I always wanted to be Alice in Wonderland >>> Outfit Not Found

Carnival here is next tuesday, the 13th.
I've never been a fan of Carnival because as a kid, my parents never let me pick my outfit and always made me wear things I didn't like and felt embarrassed wearing, and as a teenager Carnival was just an excuse for stupid boys to throw around nasty stuff like rotten eggs and stink bombs.
Now that I'm an adult I don't celebrate Carnival at all, but I always attend my niece's kindergarten parade :D She was a ladybug (for school) and a bunny last year; this year she's going as a pumpkin for school, and wants to dress up as a princess.
So as a tribute to my little niece, and to one of the many cartoons I watched as a kid, here's my HA:
Outfit Not Found Princess Serenity from Sailor Moon (anime version)
Outfit Not Found I made a fortune teller. c:
Carnival isn't widely celebrated in my part of the states, but I'd love to check it out someday in New Orleans or in another country like Brazil. I like dressing in costume and enjoy theme parties and Halloween.

Private Outfit You said wild lion and I was inspired because I remembered I hadn't use the manticore helmet yet!
Outfit Not Found Ariel from Little Mermaid, this was a lot of fun because I made her "real life" scale "body makeup" for the win :P
Have often wondered what it would be like to be Bilbo Baggins so I thought I'd make just that and go out of character and do a male HA also featuring some of the animals from his adventure.

I'm a Homestuck troll! This is my fantroll, Silima Vesant (Mystique Lungaana). She's from Tro'straya and has a thylacine lusus, but unfortunately Subeta has no oversized white thylacines, so I used the regular one.

Thank you all for your wonderful entries! I would have loved to see your costumes in RL! ^-^
So hubby and a friend who is active in carnival here in Germany looked at the entries and drumroll :-) here are the results:
1st Place goes to 2cd Places go to and 3th Places go to and and they loved all the other entries, too! (And so do I ! <3)
I am going to send the prizes out in a blink, thank you so much for your participation! ^-^

Golly, never thought I'd win a prize, just something I always wanted to dress as. Thank you and your fellow judges!
It´s a beautiful HA and scene you created there! ^-^

Aww, yay! Congrats to all of the winners! All of the entires were so great; I bet it was tough to judge c:

Great entries, everyone! Congratulations pythonesque and all the other winners!
I'm very happy to place 💙 wonderful job to all entries, it must have been really tough to decide because all are so good!
Oh, wow, thank you! And thanks to everyone else for the congrats. ❤️ It was a fun HA to make and I go to use some items I'd been meaning to :3
Yes, the boys said it was very hard to judge and I am very proud of you all! <3
The clown is so traditional, and yours was so colorful, I think it had to be in. We´ll see a lot of them during the processions. ^-^
That was a really terrific entry, masks and such regal costumes are genuine to the street processions so I think the boys loved it especially. <3
