I don't know if this is something I could commission that anyone would want to do, or if it would be too boring and I should just figure out how to do it myself. I'm not sure how it would even work because it wouldn't really HAVE lineart, it would just be a spot of colour with maybe a touch of shading.
But I desperately want a CW that will cover the HA base ears when the wig or hairstyle you want to wear does not.
See, unless I'm cosplaying or posting to Wizarding, my avatar is almost ALWAYS a catte.
She is not wearing a headband with cat ears on it. Those are her ears. She's an OC from an RPG I run.
As a result, there are many wigs she can't use at all and quite a few that she can only use layered. And this is especially a problem with CWs because so many beautiful CW wigs show the ears to allow the human HAs to wear earrings.
Given the popularity of cat and bunny ears on this site, I can't be the only person who has this problem, and it really bothers me a lot--but the CW would basically just be a spot of colour that would obliterate the ear lineart and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe have just a bit of shading to give the effect of continuing the cheekbone, since cattes and bunnehs have muzzles and a humanised one would have cheekbones that show.
I would want to make this eventually for all bases, but I'd probably start with 8 which is my favourite and 2 which seems most popular.
I want to call it "Dirty Ape Repellent # (base number)" and use the flavour text "Get your ears off me, you d*mn/darn/dang/drat (and so forth) dirty ape!" and the hard part would be doing the item image which would be a spray can with a picture of an ape/monkey in a red circle/slash on it, and the primate would be the colour of the base. That I would HAVE to commission anyway because there is no way I can do digital lineart that small, when I do my own arts I actually do the lineart with pen and pencil on paper and either colour it on paper before scanning, or scan first and then colour digitally.
I'm not sure I can do this next week or this month depending on the costs, but I'm not sure I can't, either, because I have no idea how much it should cost. If I can't do it rn I'd like to plan for it. I would use this item myself all the time, almost as much as I use the cream cakes so I can have whatever eyebrows and makeup I want.
Thoughts, offers, ideas, advice, anything?

I don't actually think this item would be allowed to be submitted but I'm not 100% sure. Facial base edits aren't allowed, and I'm honestly not sure if the ear itself counts as a facial edit. I'm also not sure if you could get something like this answered in a ticket because it may count as 'pre-approval' but I think that filing a ticket to ask would be your best (and cheapest) alternative.
In addition, if this WAS allowed, I'm pretty positive a 'splotch of color' wouldn't be allowed. It would need to be some sort of proper shape or design so that when used on a base of the incorrect color, it looked like something. The best example I've got of this are the cakes that and I did together (Noemi did the overlay!); Which had to resemble something to be allowed. (This item doesn't cover base line art on the face though, which is why it was allowed.)
actually this isnt really possible, not because of onsite restrictions, but most wigs are already DRAWN with a gap showing the ear. this means that if you use a splotch of colour to block out the ear, now it will look like hair eerily lopping around an empty patch.
my best proposition is to get some kind of layerable hair that blocks the ear. the real challenge though is how well that layers over/under other hairs. black would be the easiest of course, but anything lighter than espresso is going to layer weirdly.
i'd suggest sticking to wigs that block the ears though. im sure there'll be lots of people who will be excited to hand out suggestions as well! c:
