There's a name that I've been hoping to get for one of my pets and every once in awhile I would check to see if the account and pets would free up. It was set to free up at 3:00 pm today. I was planning on using a loyalty box and everything. Right at 3:00 I refreshed the search page so I could check to make sure that the name was free and someone had already snatched it!

I feel your pain! I had been stalking a pet name for years and lost it to a self-proclaimed name hoarder :( I was typing the name in (had a pet all ready for the name change) right at the time it was supposed to clear and it was immediately gone. I had even read that the person didn't really want the name, but they took it anyway. It is very disappointing sigh

: That sucks. It's one thing if the other person actually wants the name. The person who got the name I wanted seems the type that actually wanted it.

Don't forget those users who don't play and when the account is set to clear, they log in the day before or the day of so no one can get their pet names. That has happened to me too many times to count.

I've also had many names snatched when trying to grab them. I've also been stalking some names for years, but I tend to give up when I find something better ;)

I've had this happen too, and someone tried explaining that apparently names can clear earlier than the 3pm mark, so not really sure how that would work. I'm sorry you didn't get the name though <3

If it's a popular name checking it at 3:00pm won't get you anywhere, you really have to be quick to have a chance during name clearings. 😢

I don't get how Subeta can say something clears at such a time then clears it earlier nor how people can snatch things up near instantly. Aka the biggest reason I don't try and name hoard.

And it sucks to lose out on a name, but there's no time to check and make sure the name is available right at 3. If you want to make sure the account is actually inactive, it might be a better idea to check earlier in the day and make sure it's still set to clear rather than looking up the name AT clearing time. Or just go for it, and if you don't get the name, then check if the account went inactive or if someone else got it before you

I don't think I've ever seen a name clear at a different name exactly. There was a time that names had a chance to clear a day early but I haven't seen that happen again in some time now. When they did clear a day early it was still at 3PM EST.
