So I seen this recipe for blueberry muffins 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries 1-¾ cups plus 1 tablespoon flour, divided ½ cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon nutmeg ¾ teaspoon salt 1 egg 1 cup sour cream 1⁄3 cup milk

My question can I use self rising flour instead of the baking powder, baking, soda, salt, egg, sour, cream? No I will not be putting in the nutmeg also I would need to replace the milk with water so any advice? Oh I will be using FROZEN blueberries since that's the whole point of me making blueberry muffins is to use up the frozen blueberries I have in my freezer. Im saving up for a toaster oven and will be cooking in it as soon as I get it.I have already picked out the model and now I just need to save up to get it.So while I save up Im doing recipe searches ive never made muffins well the ones ive made where all from mixes just add water and stir..

If you leave out everything above, you basically get.. bread. Sweet bread with blueberries. Works too, but might turn out pretty dry and kinda.. dense? I would still eat it, so just give it a try? I think you might have to add a pinch of salt though. I'm not sure what exactly it does, but its for the dough, not for taste.

So.. what does the fox say...? [Item=energetic fox buddy]

It will most likely be tasteless, dense, dry and flat (not a pound cake texture at all). Try to find a recipe that only requires the ingredients you have on hand.

Well I never buy baking soda or baking powder or sour cream.. I thought self rising flour would get rid of the need for the baking powder..wasnt sure on the rest..

Maybe I would be better off with a cobbler even though it's messier and hardier for me store the leftovers..I know I would need self rising flour, butter, water, frozen blueberries and sugar. Ive made peach cobbler before but I used canned peaches so frozen fruits is a new territory for me. I found this recipe but it calls for FRESH blueberries..So do I change any of the measurements?

Let your blueberries defrost a bit on the counter before using them and you're good to go. Letting them defrost will prevent too much moisture (water) in your cobbler (remove excess liquid once you're done). If you have too much water, it will take longer to cook or it will have a weird mushy texture.

The salt enhances the sweet taste so id recommend you use it. You def need to use the baking powder, baking, soda, egg and sour cream because those create texture.
