I realized that while there's an achievement for reading your pet 1,400 books, there are 2,265 books in total on the site. Is there any point in reading them all to your pet? I have some expensive ones in my vault and I'm wondering if I should just sell them instead.

Subeta is a game that is a bunch of other smaller games. In no way are you required to play them all.

Some people like to collect, and reading a book to your pet is a way to show off that you have done this. Some users like to think their pets are bookworms or librarians and that they like to read all the books.

Reading books increases your pet's intelligence, and this is useful for making scrolls and casting their magic in battle. If you like playing the battle part of Subeta, you will want to (eventually) read your pet a lot of books. Whether or not any particular book is easier or cheaper to read than an INT booster is up to you and your budget. Battling is a very expensive little hobby on Subeta.

Yeah, there isn't an achievement or anything for reading them all, you'd just get to complete the collection or whatever for a certain pet, if that's what you wanted to do.

Personally, I like collecting everything and completing collections, but it's up to you if you want to do that or if you'd rather sell the expensive ones that you have.

Plus IDK but it's possible that they might add more tiers to the book reading achievement in the future, so who knows.

I had actually forgotten all about intelligence and scrolls, so thank you for reminding me about that!

Yeah, I was also thinking about the possibility of new tiers in the future. Still, there are so many books that to me personally it would seem more sensible to sell one expensive book to buy lots of cheaper ones. c:

I personally do sell the books that are priced higher than four or so INT boosters since I have already reached the Achievement. There was a point about seven years ago where it really didn't seem like there were gonna be new books, but nowadays there are always more.

Another expensive use for reading that many books is if you wish to play in the Job Center. Some of the jobs require a lot of INT before you can reach their top rank. It takes years and years for your pets salary to potentially pay for all those books so again like battling it's something that you'd do just because you might want to.
