Just wondered, if you got snow yesterday/today...if you're even driving age, lol...how was your drive into/from work yesterday/today?

Yesterday I had the day off, thankfully. It started snowing around here (SE Michigan) lightly in the morning, which was probably just lake effect, and it started heavily snowing about 1:30 or so in the afternoon. By about 6:00 last evening, we had about 3 inches, and another 2 inches when I got up this morning. I had to get up 20 minutes early so that I could leave early and get to work alive. It turned out that the roads weren't too bad though, but maybe that was just because I was being really careful. I think I pissed off one guy though, because I was driving so slow, but I'm not killing myself just to make him happy. It took me about 35 minutes to drive what normally takes 20 minutes, but I still got to town early enough to stop for coffee, lol. I got a venti toasted white chocolate mocha with almond milk instead of cow milk. Delicious and made the drive totally worth it. I'm just not going to think about the calories.

We had some snow earlier this week, insufficient to constitute concern. The wind scoured all of it before noon.

I still look forward to a blanket of fallout this winter.

Old, and obsolete.

It's crazy how different the weather is with so little difference, I'm in NE Indiana and we just got a small dusting that day. And now today it's warm and raining!

I misjudged pulling into a parking lot while it was snowing the other day and bumped ever so slightly into another parked car. I didn't do anything except make it rock. The owner's mother saw, came out, checked both cars over and approached my window and asked if I had insurance. She also mentioned about not thinking the cops needed to be involved and we exchanged info.

I know she saw the fact that there is front end damage to my car (THAT I DIDN'T DO AND DON'T KNOW WHO DID) and jumped to conclusions. I should have called the cops, thinking on it now, because she put in a claim after stating she couldn't really see any reason to. I think since she was out with her daughter, she saw a "teachable moment" and my dumb ass.

Which is great. Because I have no job and Dad's paying on the car insurance, which is bound to go up, so I feel like absolute shit and really want to stop driving.

Wow. Some people are just born assholes I think. Can you or your dad call the insurance company and explain what happened? Sometimes those companies are nicer and more helpful than you'd think. I hope it doesn't go up though. I have money problems myself and I totally feel the pain of thinking something might be raised. Ugh. Adulting.

Already done and done. I didn't tell the insurance that I thought the mother saw it as a "teachable moment," but I did tell Dad and he agreed with me because from the pictures I took of what I supposedly did, you have to tilt your head, squint and have the light on your side. (Everything but the "teachable moment" comment was relayed to the insurance.)

We had some sleet this morning which then turned into a light snowfall. Didn't affect my drive.

What did affect my drive time was deciding to go out in the early afternoon yesterday for coffee. With it being the Friday before Christmas, EVERYONE was travelling.

Yesterday we had snow dumped on us and I had to drive to the pharmacy. I have a Subaru Forester w/ AWD and new decent tires though, so snow is not much of an issue for me. I'm more worried about the possibility of other people skidding out of control and slamming into me.

We got hit pretty hard, over a foot on Christmas day, and another foot over night, and lucky me I had to work both days... ah the joys of driving through a blizzard...

I smashed my car today. I'm pretty sure already that it's totaled. Heartbroken and mentally trying to prepare to walk 4 miles to work every day. It's my first time dealing with this type of situation and car insurance on my own, and blah blah blah, it's not gonna be fun being broke.

I've lived in SE Michigan most of my life, miss it so much! My coworker is from there too and we spend a lot of time talking about Hines Park and Belle Isle!
