Long story short and by no means a request for someone to take pity on me:

I'm not in a good place financially again this Lumi, on here or offline. My tree is kind of reminding me of that and it's depressing as it can possibly be. I'm not some super popular Subeta user, I can't draw and I certainly don't have millions to drop on friends to get millions in gifts back. But I want the tree up because I'm not that much of a Scrooge.

I just wish there was a "display only" option.

Relax it's a game. :) Everyone understands goals on here but at the end of the day, does it matter? Gift or not, do what makes you happy and be of the same mind towards others. You are not obligated. Happy Holidays! I hope your financial situation gets better on Subeta and in RL.

Aw geez, I'm sorry you feel like that! I totally get where you're coming from-- it's a bit anxiety-provoking sometimes to get gifts but not be able to return them, or to have the feeling that others are trying to get you to give back. I really hope they'll give us this option next year, for you and everyone that end up feeling this way. ;;

I, uh.. that was kind of really rude and unnecessary? Like, yeah, not everyone plays the same way, but people can at least try to respect the wishes and boundaries of others. :/ It's just a game, sure, but it's also a social environment, and people should mind the way they behave and interact with one another. Especially when behavior can provoke unpleasant feelings in others.

I've seen a lot of people around here getting anxious about receiving gifts, like receiving a gift actually upsets them, and they don't want any. I don't understand that mindset at all, but I do agree that people should be able to turn gift receiving off if they want to. Even if they have a tree up.

I'd love a display only option honestly. I'm sorry for the troubles you're having, it's never fun to experience that type of stress during the holidays. Just know that even a happy lumi, a funny gif or a small token of adoration is always appreciated by your friends and acquaintances.
