Hey, welcome to the site! :D

There are a lot of things you could do, it's up to you to figure out what you like and focus on whatever you want. There's not really a right or wrong way to do anything. Some people like to work on stories and themes for their pets, focusing on collections (like plushies, beanbags, etc.) and achievements, collecting clothing items and making HAs, training pets and battling. Just to list some of the things you could do, or a mix of those things if you like!

Some resources to get you started...

https://subeta.net/help/

Make sure you've had a look through the rules, of course. There's also a link to the official FAQ on that page, to help you learn a bit more about the site.

^ That thread has a list of some things you can do around the site like dailies, quests, mentions of events and things.

^ That pet page also has a guide to how things work around here, if you want to take a look through that as well.

Sorry if this post is a bit long or overwhelming, take your time to get acquainted with the site and I'm sure you'll find something fun to do around here. :)

Welcome to Subeta! Laurey covered most of the basic things, but as far as the "taking advantage" point goes, there's an annual event going on right now, Luminaire. Most of the links related to the event you can find on the News page, but to light some out: You can create a tree, and decorate it with ornaments here. People can leave gifts under it, which will open on christmas/luminaire. And you can visit Melody's Cottage every day here, where you can pick up some free items and sP.

Make sure to do quests, their the quickest and easiest way to earn subeta points.

there are lots of different ways to enjoy subeta, so i suggest looking around and finding what appeals to you. here's a bunch of things you can do...

GENERAL

  • customize your sidebar. i personally like to have the following on my sidebar, but you can go through and decide what you find most useful: your account (this one should be there by default, it's titled "subeta: [your username]"), shop search, search subeta, quests.
  • bookmark the bathhouse (you can do this by clicking the little plus sign on the right of the page, next to the navigation menu) and visit it every day for increasing rewards; you can get special currencies, including csc (cash shop credits) which can be spent in... you know, the cash shop.
  • look through some achievements and see if there's anything you'd like to work toward.

EARNING SP

  • create a shop where you can sell items you don't want to keep and earn some extra sp
  • do your quests! as many as you can each day. i recommend starting with sarah, the wizard, and quentin if you only have time for some, but they're all worth doing; it's the best way to make sp, and you can throw any items you don't want to keep into your shop for even more profits.
  • also try to do special quests like shinwa and major drills as they sometimes have some pretty good rewards (if you decide to do shinwa's quest, you should do hers before the others as she will ask you to do the regular quests and if you've already maxed them out for the day then you can't finish her quest that day).
  • play some games and see if you enjoy any of them. ones with decent payouts include burrero basket bonanza (reaching 2500 points will award you 25k, and you can play up to 10 times per day), cybill sledding, and caliph's tomb. they're not a super great source of income, but you might find you enjoy some of them.

PETS

  • create pets, give them stories, create their personalities, change them into a species/color that suits their character or that you especially like (you can see a full list of pets and the colors they come in on subetalodge, which is also a great fansite for all sorts of information, especially info on items such as where you can get them), fill their treasure with items related to their character, give them a fitting minion, make/commission art of them, code/commission custom profiles for them...
  • train a pet in the training center, battle with it in the coliseum, do battle quests to get extra experience which you can use to further increase your pet's stats
  • read books to your pet to increase its intelligence and work toward the "book worm" achievement
  • get your pet a job, whether it's one you think fits their personality, or one you choose just to make some extra sp. training and reading to your pet will be necessary to increase their stats for promotions.
  • feed your pet different foods to work toward the "gourmand" achivement
  • check out the adoption center from time to time. it's often pretty empty, but sometimes you might spot a pet that you particularly like; i adopted most of my pets this way because i found their names inspiring.

ITEMS

  • collect items you like or that fit a theme you enjoy in a gallery
  • build up collections such as plushies, beanbags, tradings cards, stickers, and more (you can find them on the games page under the "collections" header); there are also achievements for most collections.
  • play around in the wardrobe and see if you enjoy making HAs. you can look through all clothing on the site by unchecking the "only show items you own" so you can experiment with new items and find things you'd like to buy if subeta fashion is something you find yourself interested in.

SOCIAL

  • look through the various subforums such as general discussion, subeta pets, chit-chat, etc. to find threads and discussions you might like to participate in. most people on here are very friendly and respectful, so as long as you understand and follow the forum rules you might have a good time chatting with others. some subforums have their own individual rules, so also check for those (they will be in a thread titled "[subforum name] rules" locked and stickied to the top of the topic list).
  • you can find topics where you might exchange stickers or presents with other users, find friends, discuss a variety of subjects, share art and writing... you know, lots of stuff.

and if you have any particular questions about anything, feel free to ask right here in help & questions and you'll probably get a pretty quick answer if someone can help you out.

(also in case you haven't figured this out on your own, when responding to another user's post you should ping them so they get a notification that you've replied to them; you ping users by clicking the little megaphone icon at the top right of their post, or typing @ and then their username with no space in between.)
