Note: this pet is actually a Digimon fan pet, but I want to base her color and species just on her appearance, so you don't need to know anything about Digimon :P

So I really have no idea what to make her because I can't think of any pet that looks like that? I thought of an Angelic pet (hoping maybe a revamp this month will spark my interest) but they all look too cheerful really. This poor babe looks miserable. Also she looks like she could be an experiment pet all on her own, but none of them really look like her either... I can do basic tweaks in Photoshops to do overlays, so that's an option.

I really want to be devil's advocate and say "make an angelic pet"!

Pretty much all of my angelic pets aren't quite typical angels-- Chara is a wrathful dead kid with a sweet face, Sariel is a fiery and otherworldly seraphim, etc. But they're still Angelic pets because it fits their concept, or there's something about the pet in particular that seems right, whether it's the glorious wings on the Angelic Irion or the "I know what you've done" expression on the Angelic Legeica. (I think that's the single reason why I picked that species for Chara, honestly. The eyes + smile were absolutely perfect.)

You can do a lot with overlay recolors or slight tweaks to expression! Or you could commission someone to do more indepth edits than what you're usually capable of.

If the boot fits in concept but not in appearance, then give it a new coat of fabric paint!

I loooove your overlay for Chara (and I know almost nothing about Undertale, so I'm just going by aesthetics!), and I love everything about Sariel. She actually reminds me of some of my OCs in fact - they're tesseracts and not technically angels, but most lesser beings can't tell the difference anyway XD

While the Legeica has the absolute best expression, the Ghostly might be my best choice unless something better is released/updated this month - it's eyeless and humanoid, and editing the mouth and wings is within my limited Photoshop abilities, lol. Plus I love Ghostlies.

Edit: omg I just peeked at your profile, and I LOVE Zero Two!! He/It is my favorite Kirby character of all time. I also love that you have Star Dream too, although I never did get around to playing that one - Galactic NOVA is my second fav Kirby chara, so I love Star Dream as well :D

Aw, that's okay! I'm glad you like both of them-- they're very close to my heart as characters, and are easily two of my favorite pets. <3 And even Zero Two and Star Dream too? Aww, that's sweet of you! The Kirby series is super special to me, and those two are probably my favorite bosses/antagonists of the whole series-- if you liked Star Dream's profile/story, I'd definitely recommend giving Planet Robobot a spin, or at least watching a playthrough! It's my favorite game in the series besides The Crystal Shards & Dreamland 3, the visuals and puzzles and everything are full of charm.

And hey, the Ghostly fits that character pretty well! I'd considering holding off to see if it does get an update, since I wouldn't be too surprised if it got one, but I'm sure it'll look great in the end. :)

Well I love eyeballs/eyeball characters because of an obscure video game series called Sonic Wings, so I like the Dark Matter, and that led to a general love of all the Kirby games :D

And I'm not in any hurry to work on Ordinemon since I'd like to finish up my WIP pets first, plus there's literally NO info on the character out yet other than her name and what she looks like... so I don't mind waiting XD

May I suggest the Angelic (Or Nightmare) Mahar? It has the thick whiskers which remind me of the face tentacles, not an exuberant expression and comparing the faces from the first image on the references, the horns share similarities as well.

i could see something nightmare working, possibly a noktoa or yaherra. alternatively, the experiment 84 has that "unsettling monster with missing pieces" thing going for it.
