Hello all, I've read the rules a few times and the guidelines and I can't find anything (or missed it, I am also watching multiple toddlers right now so I admit that's possible) about where it's appropriate/allowed to advertise for a forum group. I know that places like the shoutbox aren't allowed but I wasn't sure where IS allowed. I was wondering where to post or how to get people to join a ping group I made? I've been a member for 8 years but I'm occasionally inactive and have a lot going on so I'm not hip to this stuff yet lol. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Forum Groups have basically replaced Cults on the site, and there is a forum dedicated to them now. You can find it here: link

You can advertise for your group in that forum, and there's a thread stickied at the top that has advertising rules mentioned.

[edit]Although if the group is for giveaways, or related to something else that has its own forum section, it's possible that you may be able to advertise for it in that forum. Since I think the Forum Groups subforum is mainly for groups that were like the old cults (themed groups or whatever).

But I would suggest maybe filing a ticket to ask for a rule clarification in this case, since I don't want to get you in trouble with false info. I'm not all that familiar with this aspect of the forums.
