I used it on my poor critter, and he's turned from a beautiful, sleek Serpenth to being... Well, it looks like a camel with human hands for feet and moss all over with a weird looking face...

I really want my Ambrose back... Is the water's effects going to last?

- It's permanent, unfortunately. You need to use the right item ( Ornate Floral Pitcher ) to collect the Glade's water or it'll go bad and you'll end up with that camel thing.

Edit: "Permanent" in the sense that it won't wear off on its own. You can still change your pet back if you buy another potion.

- If you fill an Ornate Floral Pitcher with water, it becomes a Glade Potion and can change your pet's color to Glade.

There are plenty of other elixirs and potions that can change your pet's species and/or color as well.

(If you're going for a specific color/species combination, you'll typically want to use an elixir first to get the right species, and then one of the color potions.)
