Thats really interesting to hear that something like that sold for 3K CSC.

I don't hear of a lot of books or collectibles selling for more than 150mil. It seems like most collectors balk at the thought of paying more than 150mil for something that will be rereleased.

My goodness what's the going price of 500 csc at the moment? They're priced at 61 mil for 500 and that would make the book worth well over 300 million and that doesn't align with what Sovereign is tell me.

I'd just like to sell at a fair marketable price without price gouging.

I would argue an item that rare should go for 500mil to 1bil based on rarity from a supply side. Any weapon that rare/old would do 500mil easy

Historically I have not seen book/plushie/beanbag collectors willing to shell out that much on a single item, because I think there is more of a fear of rereleases among collectors. If there are collectors out there today willing to pay 3K, I would say that is probably the best that your going to do.

But if I had one, I wouldn't sell it for less than 500mil. There is a very high chance I would get burned by a rerelease before I ever sold it, but that would be my thinking.

iirc I've sold 2 or 3 at 300m ish and that was quite some time ago. There is actually some competition for the books HS right now so there might be some competition to buy one of these if a couple people needed it. 500m is a decent price, i couldn't see anyone paying more for it, though I'd argue its "worth" more sposing its not re-released.

what are your thoughts on other random collectibles. Do you think that 300-500mil price point only applies to books, or can legit rare food/beanbags/plushies also hit that price point.

I'd say so yeah, it's just that normally the collectors are the ones getting those prizes from plots.

Honestly, my starting ask would probably be 1 bil if it were me, that thing looks stupid rare. Look how many of the ones in galleries have book themed names, or something like event. those people get angry at you for even sending them offers half the time and would not sell for 1bil.

With all the inflation that has gone on over the last several years, there is no reason people should still be paying the prices of high end items from 5 years ago today. 5 years ago an item like that would have been 250-300mil easy. 500mil is a bargain when you look at inflation (and why I would ask even higher).

I think anyone who would buy at 300m would buy at 500m, and I think if you didn't need to sell it any time soon you could get more.

How often are things like this even rereleased?

it was kinda a one off event, so kinda hard to say. Probably will get rereleased when enough people complain about not being able to get one in that items to rerelease thread.

I wanted to get it for luminary for someone. I was going to offer 1.5k csc for it. I believe I paid about 200m for it around 3 years ago, for the one I read to my bookworm pet Rhyno. Still since I'm a stalker I will say this. From the top 20 list the following people need that book: SpiritedLass onlysimplicity Skywarp Bug Cerredwyn frafty Georgie foxette Considering 6 people have read all book. 8 out of 14 remaining from top 20, need this book. From those, they need 4 to 18 books to finish collection. Now, comparing this to other books: Summer in Centropolis: The Official Companion: 8/14 Friends Forever Notebook: 8/14 Tactical Tome of Phoenix: 7/14 Mazes and Mahars Strategy Guide: 7/14 Unlikely BFFs: The Totally True Tale: 5/14 Shared Diary: 5/14 Day Of The Aeanoids: 4/14

Still from the people that need 4 books to complete reading, Summer in Centropolis: The Official Companion and Mazes and Mahars Strategy Guide seems to be the rarest book. I only mention books above Day Of The Aenoids because it's an easy 400m book to obtain from achievement (delete the ether). So, even if books like Understanding Galactic (4/14) is rare, I'm not counting it. This list is not perfect but it's based on my stalking since I like to know things like this. I shouldn't have release this information, but meh who cares >.>

So, in sort this is around the 2nd-3rd rarest book. I consider Summer in Centropolis: The Official Companion the rarest since it was an event only with only a few release. Mazes and Mahars Strategy Guide because the extremely difficulty to obtain it. Win 100 games and each game takes like 15min while you only seem to have like 50% chance to win. Thats a 50 hours achievement! Gets boring and it's hard to keep focus. Then it's this book which only like 50 were given. Follow by Tactical Tome of Phoenix which was a restocking war prize. I don't consider referral points books very rare because the bathhouse gives out 1 point per month. You can see people selling them at 100csc per point.

Well, that's all I'm feeling like sharing.

I'll add a little bit of knowledge to that list though. Of the people you listed, I would say at least 3 of them have historically been extremely cheap and have waited on rereleases instead of paying top dollar for collection items, however, at least one of the people on the list is probably one of the people I would think would pay more than anyone else for the thing. I don't know much about the other 4. Looking at the top 20 isn't always the best way to do it either though since there are always potential newcomers as well. Thats a pretty decent market/competition for a single item though.

If the top offer she is getting is ~200mil, I would probably throw in an offer myself, because I think I would be able to resell it for at least double, and possibly a lot more.

I've literally never owned something so rare in my life and I didn't even realize this book was that rare! LOL!

I was the buyer. Yes, books can go there. I am only missing 4 now from the entire site, and I would easily pay that or more for the ones I am missing. I wasn't the only buyer out there either. Do keep in mind it has been suggested to be rereleased.

Do you keep books in gallery? I only check pets but not galleries.... Great more digging to do now...

There are plenty of book galleries though. Some are closer to being complete in comparison to Permanent who is at 2222 books read.
