For Christmas I am considering buying my husband a new chair for his computer. He's had his current one for yeaaaars and it is literally on its last leg and is falling apart. I'm not sure whether to get him a gaming or office chair, though.

We are both gamers and literally have a gaming room lol. His chair used to be the one he'd use for gaming, but now that we have our own house, he primarily plays his Xbox on the couch. However, he does play PC every now and then. Not to mention, whenever we have friends over, they often set their consoles up on the desk and use the chair as well.

The thing is, I've got not experience with gaming chairs so I'm not sure if they're worth the price or not. I'm willing to spend a good amount of money but nothing too crazy lol. I'd love to hear some suggestions, recommendations, and brands of either. Thanks!

I usually just sit on my couch for gaming. Imo, gaming chairs aren't really that big a deal. My couch with my pillows and my blanket are my choice, lol. If his current computer chair is as bad as it sounds, I'd get one like that. Maybe a super comfy one that could be used for both?

My current computer chair is one I got at a thrift shop for $7, lol. It was in perfect shape except for the weird white faux leather that was covering it. So I tore that off and recovered it with this cool fleece with bumps on it. It's so cool and the whole thing cost probably $14 total. So maybe thrifting or Craigslist might be an option? If your finances are anything like my own, it would be worth a look, lol.

Or if you're set on going new, Black Friday is coming up and there should be some good sales on then.

Oh yea, we now primarily use our loveseats when we game on our consoles. He doesn't use his chair as often as when he was in high school, but he does use it whenever he wants to play PC or simply get on his computer (and also when our friends come over to game). Due to our setup and layout of our game room, some sort of office or gaming chair would fit best. There are some things he's picky about, and this is one of them. So I can't exactly go thrifty on this haha. But it's totally okay; I'm at a better spot financially now that I have a full-time job than I was shopping for gifts last year.

I think I'm going to go with a gaming chair after some more research though. Some of the features meet his desires. Though I hear some of the brands have good deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so I'm going to wait until then just in case!
