I have this issue where a pet I used to own is stuck on a semi-inactive account and I really want them back. I never would of pounded her if I knew I'd be getting more pet slots. So you know how if an account isn't logged into for a certain amount of time this text appears saying this account is inactive you can recreate an account with this name or something? Two questions, about how long does an account have to be inactive for this to happen, and what happens to the pets on that account? Do they just end up in the pound.

I mailed another user about a similar experience and they got back to me within a day and were nice enough to even give the pet back to me. But since I didn't hear anything about the pet I'm waiting on I checked the account and apparently no one has been using it since 7 months ago. I'm not begging just kindly asking if I could have my pets back. I know pound is fair game but these names are whats really important to me.

I make OCs cuz I have no life of my own and the name of one of my brothers OCs is the pet I'm after. It's a made up name so it shouldn't have any value to anyone else.

Also since technically that pet is a hydrus sheeta the new owner might of been attached to it. Am I allowed to offer to give them an item of their choice in return for the pet or is this against the rules?

After 1 year of inactivation the pets and user name become available, unfortunately you can't adopt back the exact same pet but you can create a new one with the same name or change an already existing one.

And yes, trading pets (for items, money or even other pets) is illegal; when in doubt about anything being against the rule or not check them in Subeta > help.

I strongly recommend you file a Ticket in Help about this.

The account becomes inactive after one year of inactivity (it should be marked with an exact clearing date after 10 months). Asking for pets back is not against the rules afaik off-hand but can be frowned upon just because it sometimes comes off rude. Offering items in exchange for the pets IS definitely against the rules.

If you create a new pet with the inactive one's name, the old pet will be renamed to something like OriginalName_274 and will stay on the account. The owner will get a free name change on that pet if they ever decide to come back.

Okay don't worry I didn't offer anything and I was as nice as possible in my mail to the owner, they likely won't get it anyway... I wonder if staff will let me have my pet back if I ask them...

You're going to have to wait until the inactive date comes up. Its a pain to wait I know, but staff will not give a pet back that you willingly gave up. Just collect items to complete hydrus quests so once you get the name back you can remake the pet as you had it before. Or even a new style since others have come out for hydrus.

But that waiting is a pain for many of us because a good handful of users have stockpiled on decent names but only log on once a year or every few months just so others can never use those names.

Well as I said the name shouldn't mean anything to anyone else cuz it's a made up name, so... Looks like I'm waiting... this is a pain...

8 months 4 months to go... In March I should be able to recreate this pet.
