i apologize in advance if i say things weird, i don't know the etiquette of the adoption threads here ;v;

i'm a fan of older pets, and i've been kind of thinking of rehoming a couple of mine. still up for debate, but, what would convince me is if i could find something i like more

i'm looking for an older pet -- name doesn't have to be good (i can always just rename), and by that im not saying like IT HAS TO BE RIDICULOUSLY OLD i just mean it'd be nice if they were born 2016 or before? sometime before i joined ;w; (older the better, tho!) and please let me know what the market would be for such pets!

additionally, one of my goals is to get an experiment , so i though while i'm here i'd like to see if anyone had any male available that theyd like to rehome!

lastly, a question: if im not sure i want to adopt out some pets or not, is it okay to do an IC or something?

please let me know if i need to do anything differently, i'd like to learn how to do this right ;u;

hello! I've actually been slowly working on clearing out my pets for names I can work with story/profile wise. I still have a few I've been debating with, one of which is a sweetheart hippo(something) haha, it has a low ID, a minion and a 2010 birthdate irc.

I'm gonna attempt to answer some of your questions:

If your definition of "old" is 2016 or older, then it should be fairly easy for you to find older pets. :) Years 2010-2016 can frequently be found in the pound or up for adoption here. Unfortunately, the pound doesn't show birthdates but you can always look them up. Before 2010 is a little harder to find, and the farther back you go the harder it becomes. But you'll still find some in the pound and up for adoption from time to time.

People also look for certain ids, which are correlated to birthday. Older pets have lower ids. I think anything 2011 and before is 1000000 or less. You might join the ping group so you can get notifications when a pet that has a low id is put up for adoption. :)

I'm not sure what an IC is but if you want to put pets tentatively up for adoption, that's not unheard of. You can let people still apply, just make sure you make it very clear that you may end up keeping them. That way people know what to expect.

just because i've never actually done this before, and i'm coming from flight rising lol, are these pets sold or purely adopted out? and if i did end up adopting this girl, would it be okay for me to breed/color change (and possibly name change), or would you rather i not?

IC stands for "interest check," it's used a lot on flight rising where i'm most active :'D so yeah it's "i'm just wanting to see what people think since my pets are not very valuable at all. but i can definitely do what you said!

I don't believe you are actually alowed to sell pets in this site, you can however adopt/trade pets. And of course I don't mind if you change the name/species/color. Technically I wouldn't have a say but in this case I don't mind hahaha. Anyways please feel free to send me a friend request and I'll send her your way!

Looking in the pound is a great way to find low id pets too! I found 4 or so last week, you just have to keep checking, eventually one will pop up :)

Yeah, no trading but you can still adopt out and in. :) the staff wanted to make sure that people value their pets as more of a personal expression then just fodder that can be used to get other pets. It's not that different, don't worry! You can adopt out pets by either friending the user and sending the pet privately or you can try to drop them in the pound but it's really just easier to friend request and transfer.

If you are interested in lower IDs are are okay with spending money to get them (csc or a lot of sp), you could also go the route of searching for/adopting pets in the pound and then using csc to do a name exchange with them.

That way you keep your current names that might have some meaning to you, but can still collect older IDs for them. Many people who are into IDs choose this route because we like certain types of names but older IDs are special to us too.

I notice you have a couple of pets in the 900k area already, so that might be a good goal for you! They appear in the pound relatively often but certainly don't make up the majority. There's one or two in there now out of 45-50 pets. The easiest way to find the ID of a pet in the pound is just by hovering over the Adopt button- it will be at the end of the url preview (I'm sorry if I over-explained some of this).

I like to collect low IDs for my pets too, so you're welcome to ask me any questions if you ever have them or they're not answered here!

lol I was just going to comment I have an older pet from August 2008. Then I saw you're also looking for an Experiment 932? Yeah, the pet is that experiment as well. Not male but I'm willing to change her gender if you want.
