I was posting on the forums and I got a forum point today, which prompted me to look if there are any threads where you post often to increase your chance of getting points, but there aren't any. Would this be allowed, since it could be considered spam? And if so, what if it was something along the lines of: "Post something random/about your day for forum points?" If that was allowed, would it go in General Discussion or Chit-Chat?

The User Run Games forum has some threads like that, although I can't remember if you can actually get forum points from those. I think posts there used to not count, but they do again since the forums were updated a while back.

I think it would be a bit iffy on including the "post for forum points" bit, but having like random chit-chat threads aren't really against the rules. Like the "post an item you just discovered", "what's your favorite/least favorite pet", and those sorts of topics.

I think as long as you're actually contributing to a discussion of some sort and not just posting the same thing over and over, it's not considered spam.

I just post my results in the Games forum all day erryday. x) Plus it motivates me to actually play the games. Alternatively there's the Avatar Contests & Games forum, but I'm not as fond of it.

You can use the ToT and Egg/TP threads in the Morostide forum, I always get forum points there :)

Other places to post include the brag & complaining forum where you can congratulate/commiserate. Suggestions & Ideas where you can add your support or not to user suggestions.

You could also create a posting forum group and create threads in that group for people to spam. Like your "post something random" thread you talked about, among others.

those are all great suggestions, thank you all very much! I'll take a look at those forums, and I might create a group like Lypsyl said. I've never actually really paid much attention to the games section, but I guess I'll start! :)
