MOROSTIDE SPOOKY SCARY TIMES

Happy Morostide!

Things I’ve done this week:

• Floating Pumpkins: Last year and for the first day or so of Morostide, only three types of carveable pumpkins floated. That isn’t the case anymore! I’ve added all previous pumpkins used for carving to the floating code!
• Shinwa is officially dressed for Morostide! She’ll work like the quest NPCs now, where once the holiday is over she will go back to her usual flawless clothes
• Dara’s Minions combinations have been moved around a bit to see if I can force the two minions that have for some reason just not wanted to show up! Hopefully Maneku will show up like in the next 48 hours for you guys!
• The Subscription page has been updated a bit thanks to User Feedback!
• The Spooky Chance Machine is back on the Cash Shop Chance Machine page!
• Already in your Pumpkin collection: When trying to add a pumpkin you already have in your collection, you’ll see this message on the menu (like if you had a plushie in your collection or an item in your wardrobe already)!

I would’ve liked to knock more out, but I’ve been working with and on various things for the site. Keith and I were doing back-end things when Morostide started and it took a lot of my time up for the week (when I wasn't busy setting up a new exhibitions for the museum I work at). BUT YAY THE SITE ISN’T DYING EVERY SECOND ANYMORE. Thanks to the vault caching, we’re also not having to bring the site down every few hours to let it work itself out. Unfortunately, all the downtime and issues means my content plans for Morostide had to be delayed. Prepare for more spooky content now though! <3

Bug went to sleep before I could grab him for his part of the post! Sometime tomorrow I’ll edit this section with a message from him + the rad things he’s worked on while not working on vaults or wardrobe. I’ll also make sure to post and alert everyone that it’s been updated <3

One big thing Keith and did this past week is add cache to the vaults. You can read about it in this site feedback thread.

Next week we will be on a better schedule, both of us have missed out on some sleep because of the start of Morostide-site-exploding. :x

Hi everyone! I slept for like 30 hours straight or something and I'm feeling much better now as a result. When the site exploded to celebrate Morostide, I was working on frontend-y things while and worked on the backend, caching, server settings, etc. We didn't expect literally everything to break, so the first day or two of Morostide, I was scrambling to fix zapper skins, make hexes show up, and so on. Then my coffee maker broke too (I guess it wanted to join the fad) in the middle of the week so you can tell life was really trying me. But now, the replacement arrived, the major bugs are fixed, and everything should be finally working smoothly! wipes sweat off brow I haven't had much time for other things, but here's a list of what I could manage in between battling the website.

LITTLE MOROSTIDE THINGS:

• Fix Hex Remover. This item wasn't working correctly for the very beginning of Morostide. If you used a Hex Remover that didn't work on the first day of Morostide, please file a ticket to get it reimbursed.
• Make it show a picture of your HA after getting a zapper skin and getting hexed. It did this in previous years but some of the image URLs had to be corrected for this year due to wardrobe changes.
• Sarah and Saggitarius will show the correct image when turning you away for not having the right sP requirement, so you can see their costumes even if you can't do their quests.
• The Pumpkin Patch text says your active pet correctly now.
• Immediately show how much time you have left when you ToT or visit the Pumpkin Patch.
• Remove virus message from Healer page that used to show up when you visit her wearing a special skin. OTHER LITTLE THINGS:
• The FAQ has been updated with the correct information about Sarah/Saggi sP limits.
• Fixed ticket times; it used to show the incorrect time by a couple hours, but should be now show the correct time in Subeta's timezone (EST) That's all for now!

Like I said, a lot of the content we had planned had been pushed back unfortunately. If I can't get to it this weekend, I'm going to grab Grace to do it because I want a few changes to the zapper but I'm also doing a lot at the museum I work at IRL (plus with the site exploding I did a lot more hours at once than I normally would so it's like I have to balance it out for the end of the month sort of thing).

BASICALLY. Yes, something will happen with the zapper before the end of the month. :)

There are still many days left of Morostide. Those lil dudes might pop up, you never know. ;) Keep an eye on the news though.
