How do people find partner when they are out of school and adults? I'm living in a rural area, so there aren't much 'events' to go to. I see the same people at work every day, most of which are married with kids. I tried the online dating and everyone is just.....eh.....well lets say its not for me. Tinder is really the only 'dating site' that is used in my area, everyone wants hookups. I'm past that...ugh...I want a friend/partner.

Should I just stop looking, accept being single, and sooner or later I will find someone?

I was sorta in the same situation as you. There's not much going on where I live other than the bar scene and that's just not my thing. Tinder was the only real thing going, but as you said, most just want a hookup. So I did what you suggested. I just gave up. I decided I was happy being alone. And then suddenly BLAM! I met someone while walking my dog. So yeah, I mean. Sometimes not looking kinda works out :P

Are there any towns nearby, 30mins-1hr? You could do art centers, yoga, classes, etc? Anything that portrays to your hobby? Library? Also - the looking while not looking works pretty well. I met my bf @ my old job where I worked at an art center teaching art!

I found my fiancé on fb through a mutual friend to be honest. This was after I stopped looking and was happy with myself just to be who I am and single. I was actually more than happy to be single when I found him! I believe that if you are looking for a partner, then it is obvious that you are not happy with yourself and you need to work on that first. :)

I agree with , I was unhappily single for a long time and one day decided it was time to look after myself, so I decided to get out more and start saying yes to all kinds of opportunities and throwing myself into a bunch of activities (like volunteer work, joining clubs etc.) and eventually became so busy and happy on my own that I didnt think I could ever find time for a partner! Then one day I just met someone and that was that :)
