I hate calling out of work, I feel so guilty especially knowing our lead tech is out due to the death of her father and all we have are trainees and I was really needed all week I just know it. I keep telling myself "you are sick, you can't even clean your room without over exerting yourself, you;d be no help. Also why infect the whole staff?" but then I can't help but feel everyone at work hates me and thinks i'm a slacker. I just don't understand social norms well and every moment I interact with people just makes me cringe so hard.

My ankle has been hurting the last 6 weeks, can't go to the gym and having to be on modified duty at work. Starting to feel like this is never going to heal, and the doctor still doesn't even know what it is.

I'm the same way. Well, I was. At some point, you have to just not give a shit what other will think because they're going to talk whether you give them a reason to or not. You should focus on your health and fuck everything else.

Ugh, I've had a cold all last week. I left early on Thursday and left my trainee in the hands of a fairly new girl who's only just out of trainee status herself, but I couldn't have cared less. They'll sink or swim. I had to get out then or not be able to drive home. I worked Friday though, still sick. Thankfully I have the weekend off. I really, really hope I don't have any trainees this week though. I might just make this 'sick thing' last a little longer, even though I'm feeling much better. I told them I don't want to train and I have the seniority to make that request, but do they care? Fuck no. I'll teach them, use my seniority to go the fuck home and make them deal with the idiot newbies.

YEP! Cold got me too. Started Saturday, and I ended up having to call off Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I worked a little from home on Wednesday, but it wasn't a full day at all. Not pleased. Not the time of year to be losing money. D: Also I just a) hate being sick, and b) hate not coming in, because I'm the manager of a wee lil office running several businesses and it's just a bad idea. But it's that 'don't infect your staff' thing that kept me home. I'm in the last stages now, which is great because Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I need to cook for Mom and me! Did a bunch of prep and made pies today so I feel accomplished, AND I did not cough much at all.

The most annoying part though of the healing process to ME is how weirdly dry your sinuses get. Like, the mucus (sorry folks) is receding and you're no longer guzzling water since your throat isn't on fire, so you kind of have to remember to drink and you're dry.

I'm just now getting this...everyone else has gotten over it. This is how isolated I am.

My symptoms only bother me as I struggle to fall asleep, when I have no distractions. When I go outside to work myself ragged, they just vanish. No congestion, no soreness, nothing.

the laundry room in my building, which is on my floor, caught fire this week. it was mostly smoke. but i called my boss right as the fire dept got here cos we didn't know what was totally going on and if we'd need to grab the cats and evacuate. (we didn't thankfully, but we did spend some time talking with the owner(?) of the building (or some other white male from the prop management? since it was our building that called the fire dept.) I wasn't LATE but I was -right- on time. like to the minute, I think. Even the girl that sits next to me was like ... "YOU'RE LATE?!" I do NOT like being late. Ever. For anything. Especially for work.
