I'm after a pet name, and when I search for it, it shows up as existing, but has no picture and doesn't link to anything. It's just plaintext. I tried to create a pet with the name and it says it's taken.

Is there any reason it would be like this? I was under the impression that even pets of iced users still showed up and had profiles.

If you can't create the pet then that means the name is taken. Not sure why it's showing up like that. Maybe the owner used CSS to make it blank? :s

You could try searching for the name, if nothing appears you probably should file a ticket.

That's the thing, when I search for it it shows up where a pet with that name would be, but it has no image or hyperlink, it's just the name in plaintext.

You can hide a lot of stuff using CSS, so I imagine you could probably hide everything except the name. If you're curious, you could right click and view the source of the page; the whole code should be there, even if it's visibly hidden. You should be able to find the owner of the pet that way.

wait, the search result is a dead link? that's weird o: what do you get when you try subeta.net/games/battle/stats.php?act=pet&pet=PETNAME ? at the very least, that should tell you the owner's name ("back to USER's main stats"), or like mentioned you can find it through the source code on the pet's page

The one on the right isn't a link like it should be if it was a pet.

I think the way pets were created in the past could lead to "semi existing" ones because the user stopped the proccess in the middle, it's the only thing I can think of.

Oh... that's super weird. Have you tried looking for the pet like this? http://subeta.net/pets/[pet name here]? That's how I normally look up pets. I didn't even know you could look up things with a search feature like that loool.

Alright, y'all, your suggestion got me an answer I think. That led to a stats page for a real pet, and the user who owns it is frozen (and eligible for clearing in a few months ??)

Which is still weird, cause every other time I find a pet name belonging to a frozen account it still has a link and a pet profile etc.

Do you get that with all pet names or just this specific one? Have you tried another browser or removing your own Custom CSS if you have any?

Alright, that leads me to a page! It's a pet belonging to the same frozen user I found using 's method, which is good I think.

The really weird part is that the pet still has no image and... no species wtf lol

It's seriously listed as "-PETNAME- the female nostalgic" and that's it

EDIT: Also it doesn't have the usual banner that says "this pet belongs to a frozen user etc etc"

DOUBLE EDIT: Aaaaaaand the species isn't hidden with CSS, the source code has no mention of a species, where the pet image would be it just says //img.subeta.net/pets/_nostalgic.png

It's just that one, it's super weird. I do have custom CSS but I don't know why it would only affect this one pet.

i think? pets from frozen users keep their custom profiles so that might explain their pet page but not the search result. how strange o: at least you know it'll be free soon i guess?

e/ well now if it doesn't have a banner that's extra strange. i don't think you can code that out

Seems like you got it somewhat resolved, although maybe it wouldn't hurt to submit a ticket just to let them know about it. I'm not sure what they usually do about these pets, but it might be worth looking into.

That is super weird. Does it list a species of Nostalgic pet? If not it might have been somehow turned into one that doesn't exist, but I've never seen that happen without it still listing the species, and usually there's a broken image there instead of just. nothing at all lol

Nope, the profile doesn't look to be using any sort of CSS, and I looked at the source code and it has no mention of a species. Even the image link just says //img.subeta.net/pets/_nostalgic.png

that kind of sounds like what happens when someone uses a miracle potion to change their pet to a color that doesn't exist for that species, but it'll still usually list the species name and just have a broken image...

This is what I was thinking too. It used to be a common thing years and years ago to change pets into color/species combos that didn't exist yet. I thought they had put a stop to doing all of that but maybe someone found a way around it.
