I don't quite know how I feel about this. In my head, I always whine about having to confirm before feeding something to Cibophobia, but I have never once made a thread about it, because there have been too many close calls where I've almost fed Pacifist or Discordia (The pets above and below Cibophobia) something truly expensive.
I mean, I understand wanting less clicks. I am all about less clicks. And I also know that I could afford to re-buy almost all of the food I have, but it would be super painful to have to spend 15m on -ANOTHER- mocha because I gave it to the wrong pet.

The same thing has been applied to books, and I'm really not liking it. The extra clicks are annoying, until your hand suddenly twitches when you're trying to read/feed something very expensive to your battle/gourmand pet, and then you're praising the confirmation box gods. For me and my shaky hands, the accidental clicks on the wrong pet happen all the time but at least before I could safely cancel the action. If there were a way to make 'categories' of pets so these particular pets who get expensive items are separated more from the others that could help, but until something like that occurs I think removing the confirmation is bad idea.
The removal is extra confusing since only a couple of months back Bug added a confirmation for CSC priced CW purchases from user shops, so it's not like staff are actively trying to get rid of confirmation boxes, and books/food can cost just as much CSC as a CW so the difference is minimal imo.
EDIT: It also seems weird that plushies and Subeautique invites etc still have confirmations if the idea is to make mass movement of inventory items easier - their buttons are much less likely to be clicked on by mistake, so why not remove those confirmations and keep them on the books or food for the same overall speed benefit without the risk? Or add a direct-to-collection quick stock function for books and food for mass feeding and reading (similar to the Antique Shop perhaps) so that the inventory confirms can stay in place for those of us who want to go through one by one. I dunno, I just know if this is a permanent feature it is guaranteed to end poorly for me some day and I'm pretty sure a ticket won't resolve it when it does because it will technically be my fault.
I noticed that reading and using healing potions don't have confirmation boxes too, and assume that all other usable items could be the same.
Not sure if this is intentional or not, or if it's a part of this week's sprint. Just giving a word of caution to be careful using your items! (But mass feeding and reading is easier with this tradeoff)
Oh geez. Yeah, that was me trying to remove the confirmation on giving minions to pets... >_>
I'll switch it back I guess? Didn't realize it would affect so many things T_T why is subeta's code like this

Haha, oh dear, the joys of programming. I had an inkling it was something like that, but I also know confirmation boxes are things that many sites like to move away from as they get more efficient (which Subeta is indeed doing!). I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make my post sound like the mightiest of teeth-gnashing backlashes, I'm just super stressed right now but I know you're doing a really good job with the improvements around the site (I could finally change my HA today because you made the wardrobe friendlier!)
Oh I'm not offended or anything! Just... trying to decide whether I should put it back to how it was xD
It's annoying because now I don't think I actually can remove the minion popup confirmation without removing those too >_< So I guess I'll revert it but ... grrarrghhrghh
[edit] Reverted! 8c

I remember a long time ago I made a suggestion thread about the ability to favorite/reorder/prune out pet lists for various tasks (feed/read mostly, but possibly play?).
Like if you feed one pet primarily/exclusively, you could either: -Put them at the top of the list (edit: different than pet order because it would be by 'task' - pet A at the top for read, pet D at the top for feed) -Put them in a slightly offset section (left and right maybe to save space?) like favorite friends -Make them the only one on the list (maybe with an option to feed you other pets on the pets page so you aren't adding/removing a lot if you do want to feed them occasionally)
Now that the blessed 'already in your wardrobe' text is finally implemented, perhaps Subeta would again consider updating the other sections to be more user friendly as well.
Then I'd say the confirmation box could go away (perhaps only if you utilize whatever 'focus this pet' option is chosen to be implemented?) and we could save clicks with less risk.
I'd repost the old thread but I think it's probably from the era where the forums are blanked out. I couldn't find it quickly anyways.
