Hello everyone! Over the past year or so, and I have (hopefully) cultivated a strong sense of community with our weekly Stimulate Your Style challenges. It's really lovely to see familiar faces popping through and joining in each week and it feels like it's time we celebrate that. As we get to know one another better, I think a general chit chat thread would be a welcome addition to our repertoire. While you are welcome to talk about Stimulate and other challenges, all discussions, outside the realms of human avatars, Subeta and beyond, are welcome here.
The rules are simple! Follow the Community Guidelines and be kind and considerate to your fellow users. Anyone who strays from these simple conditions will be removed from the group. If you do have a problem with any behaviour in this thread, please contact a member of the Style File staff to escalate the situation.
As you may know, we do have two current threads for specific activities. Lending & Borrowing and Avatar Critiques & Advice should still be the primary threads for both of these topics. With the latter, I'm more lenient - if you're looking for quick tips or talking about your HA making process, or perhaps want a second opinion from a fellow poster, that is fine! But larger requests for help should be concentrated in their respective threads.
Finally, there is a ping group for this thread! All members of are free to ping if you're looking for someone to chat with. Be considerate! Nobody wants to be flooded with pings, so sensibly limit the number of pings you make to the group. There's no firm rule here, but space out your pings between others using it to call attention.

Okay okay I'm sorry I took a little longer than normal to get the challenge up this week but I managed to smash the screen on my brand new phone - two weeks old - by sheer Thomas stupidity. I lack co-ordination in basically all aspects lmao and it just kinda... slipped out of my hands and hit the pavement, and that was it. I'm annoyed. Gonna cost like £115 to get it replaced arghhh but I guess I gotta do it. I've never smashed a screen before, sob.

OMG , OH NO!!!! :( there's not a place around that you can just replace the screen? :( I think they've started opening stores here in the states, that you can get phone screen replacements. of course. i don't know how much it costs. probably the same amount you just mentioned.

Oh yeah, haha, that's just to get the screen replaced! It's a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the design means it's a bit more tricky and technical than most replacements. :c I love the phone but arghhh why me, why now? Oh well, that's life and my forever clumsy self. It happens!
Ah, geeze that sucks! It's even worse cause it's new. I'd be annoyed. But lol I got the Galaxy active for that exact reason. Other than I'm actually outdoors a lot and needed a tough phone...I uh, drop it. A lot.

since made this board to complain, i have something to complain about too! a user that has a pet name that i want was set to clear next month and i was so excited i set a reminder and everything for it, so i went on their profile and they fucking logged in so now i can't get the name i wanted and i'm pissed

Oh no :( I have a Note 3 and my husband always tells me to keep the cover on my phone, cause I'm a bit clumsy too. Hope you can find someway to get it fixed without having it cost a lot!
Hahaha klutzes of the world unite! I am a little to blame as I didn't have a case for it, as I don't appreciate the added bulk and have never needed one before. Serves me right, huh? Thankfully the phone itself is FINE as far as I can tell, no performance issues. But I don't want the damage to propagate so gonna have to stump up the cash and get it fixed. To be honest the biggest annoyance is gonna be living without it for a few days. I have some old phones stashed in my drawer but recently switched networks so my old SIM cards won't work on 'em, so I'm gonna be off the grid for a few days. :/ Just annoying if someone needs to get in touch. Oh well, it happens.
Ah no, that sucks. D: That always seems to be the way! So frustrating to have to wait another year with no certainty in sight. I hope you manage to work something out with an alternative but understand that it's... never quite the same. I have 4 slots free at the moment and have no idea what to do with them. My current pets are like... random stuff and countries haha. I don't do anything to them bar making them look pretty. Most other names that fit with whatever loose themes I have are taken, though.
oh pooh! , that's really disappointing. have you thought about smailing the owner of the pet, see if maybe they want to get rid of it? (then you can change the pet to one you want?) especially if they only just signed on to keep their stuff, but they are not playing or doing any thing with their pets.
heh. , i've got huge "stories" for my pets and all related to one another (how the meant up with one another) but i've never typed them up. heh. just given a few some quick paragraphs. i would really like to get enough "stuff" together to have profiles made for them. lol but i do to much with playing in my wardrobe, to concentrate on my pets. HAHAHAAAA

OMG THOMAS!! heh. i would go INSANE without my phone! even when i was out of computer/internet, at least i had my phone. grin. in fact. it was when my phone company got sold to another company, and my phone stopped working, that i really did go insane. started suffering severe depression.
(I'm housebound old women) so my phone and computer are my main (only) means of communication. and not having a phone, meant that i couldn't even talk to my family (who are out of state) i finally just gave in, and transferred over to another phone company. (AND got a new phone!)

I'm glad you guys have made this! My work computer doesn't load the wardrobe properly so it's been difficult to play along, but having space to chat is awesome!

Oh gosh, yes. For the longest while I didn't unlock wigs but lately I've wished for several of the older redeemable Delish wigs. Now I have my chance!
So great to see all the sets come back! I have... basically all of them LOL, bar the newest, but had to buy another set of the Delish Decked Out Playing Cards as my original copy went missing and the staff couldn't track them down. Oh well, it happens! Happy to have crossed them off the wishlist! What did you guys pick out? :)
And the latest from me? It was my brother's wedding on Saturday! I'm pretty ambivalent about marriage but the day was actually lovely. His bride - my sister-in-law! - looked absolutely stunning and it was a very special day, the venue, the food, the whole thing was beautiful. And my mum looked great too hahaha. She definitely won the contest of best dressed mum! And the weather was pretty good, too, which was a blessing for temperamental British weather!
