i have fibromyalgia and being in my computer chair saps my energy, and the only other place i have to be is my bed which makes me fall asleep. ive wanted an armchair or loveseat or something cozy and comfortable that i still SIT in for a while but i dont have much space in my room, and id really like to be able to replace my computer chair with something i can be in comfortably. the problem is, armchairs make horrible computer chairs. i'd need something adjustable, or at least at a good height (i have my computer chair set at about 14 inches off the ground), a comfortable textile, and not very restrictive (i took the arms off my computer chair so i can sit in it sideways/crosslegged and its much more comfortable but still not great). it also should be easy to transport, at least in the state it comes in, because my room is up a very narrow flight of stairs. this isnt exactly a pressing matter, and im not going anywhere, and im not even deadset on buying a new chair because im saving money. but if i knew there was something good, and if i could find one at a good price, id get it and the day to day would probably be a lot easier.

so are there any like... comfortable, padded chairs i could use as a computer chair that wouldnt suck?

I am in a similar situation and my computer chair is based on a pilot's seat which is as comfy as I can get with a chair. I don't know if this type of chair has some special name in English but it kinda looks like on this photo, only mine also has armrests: Click!
