I am familiar with tarot (and there are a lot of websites that will do a daily reading for you) but I have not heard of pendulum readings. What is that?
i'm a beginner in tarot :D would you like a reading?
the pendulum is usually a ring or a crystal on an long chain or string. i think it is used for yes/no questions. the reader, or better said medium in this case, holds the end of the string/chain and lets the crystal/ring hang at the other end. after the question is asked, the device should start moving. the interpreter MUST create a code: move in circular motion for yes, back and forth for no, and combination of the two for maybe [this is just an example] i don't really trust this device, unless the interpreter is really good -and proved it with other methods, lol-

I own tarot cards, but only for the art XD That said, I learned that tarot can be used like regular playing cards, so I've always wanted to learn how to play tarot card games.
Rii can draw! Check out her chibi art shop or her insta!
How about a webcomic about villains stumbling around redemption arcs? Drop by:

I've been really interested in this stuff too so I'd also like to know which users do it! I got my cards read in 8th grade and got a 10 of swords and the girl refused to tell me what it meant and abruptly stopped my reading and told me to go away. I've always been curious about that. I'm 28 now so that's cool. I thought I was gonna die super young or something. Hahahaha.

i have tarot cards and used to do readings quite often but i haven't in a few years. i should probably get back into them, tbh. but i remember them always being fairly accurate and i'm interested to see what they'd say about my life now.
I have a Tarot deck and I know how to use it. I don't believe in the supernatural, but it was still fun to learn, and trying to apply the cards to your (or someone else's) situation can give new perspectives and insights.
The 10 of swords means betrayal, the end of a relationship of friendship, stuff like that. The girl reading your cards was probably scared that you were going to backstab her in some way.
Have a tarot deck. I think it is more a snapshot - people still have freewill.
I absolutely LOVE tarot cards. I have two decks that I use for myself, but I own quite a few more. There are so many decks that have fabulous artwork. I also have an amethyst pendulum that I use. I prefer tarot cards though.
it is my understanding that 10 of swords is one of the worst cards to get, along with 3 of swords [the whole swords suit is bad to begin with] it was not foretelling death but a lot of misfortune, a lost argument.. could also indicate that the worst possible just passed, even if the situation doesn't seem to be much better from before. [don't believe any tarot reader that predicts death because it is very difficult to predict that. if they say 'death' is more like the end of a period/cycle/relationship and the chance to start something new -maybe better- instead]

I do tarot readings! Mostly for myself and friends. I got my first deck when I was about 16 or 17. I wasn't the happiest with them, the art wasn't the greatest and there was just something off putting about it. But I was eager to learn. Recently I got 2 new ones. One I think is called Oracle of the shapeshifters? And the other is Shadowscapes which is a beautiful deck!
I also had an old Milton Bradley (I think) game that was a pendulum. But due to circumstances, I don't have it any longer :( I've never dealt with a pendulum besides that one.
i used to do both the tarot i still have but it stays in a box sealed away for time being due to alot of dark predictions that have came true. the pendulum ive used alot for many differnt purposes and still do
Hiiiii I do tarot readings! Ive been reading tarot for about only 7-ish years. The only deck I work with is the Wildwood but I have a huge collection of decks, I love to hoard them. Its cool there are others on here that do tarot stuff!
Whats everyones favorite deck?
I started with Connolly Tarot, but so many books and websites about learning to read tarot focus on the Rider-Waite the Rider-Waite grew on me over the years, and now I think the Connolly is a bit silly in how much it softens the darker images, I still love the illustrations though. I also have the Hobbit Tarot, which was a gift from my husband because The Hobbit is his favorite book, even though he's not too into the tarot himself and I swear my readings for him have never come out right because the cards must KNOW he doesn't take them seriously lol.
After I started liking the Rider-Waite more, I searched for a while for a version of the deck I liked, and I got the Smith-Waite Centennial deck which I like a lot. Those are the three decks I have. I want to get the Cat's Eye Tarot soon. It was designed by a veterinarian who's worked mainly with cats for a long time and I love how it depicts cat doing actual cat things instead of anthropomorphizing them, and it looks beautiful.
There are no good or bad cards. It's always situational. I actually saw a much less foreboding interpretation of 10 of Swords somewhere relating to people's tendencies to be overdramatic and not see the way out of something. We can certainly ACT like there are ten swords sticking through us, but there's always a way to move forward!
Death very often means a form of transition. The Connolly Tarot, which was my first deck and softens some of the harsher images, actually calls the card Transition. Even death itself is only a transition from one state to another if you believe in an afterlife!
since im just a beginner in reading the tarot, of course my experience with the cards is limited. not to mention that some cards have darker images than others... and of course the situation also influences the reading.
Transition sounds like a good name for the Death card. [or maybe transformation, even..?] i do believe in an afterlife - sadly, i just dont know what it entails.. ;) i guess i can only hope for the better until i get to 'see' it? LOL ;)
thank you for your input! it was helpful! :)
I also own the Shadowscapes Tarot. I wanted to have it for MANY years. I got it this year by quite a strange string of events XD

Thank you all for your input. I was in 8th grade and the person reading my cards was our substitute teacher. I was never worried, but always really curious. So it just stuck with me all these years. I still don't know how I can relate the meaning to what has happened since, but it's definitely interesting to think about even now.
